Cast your mind back to the days
When I'd pretend I was okay
I had so very much to say
About my crazy livin'
Now that I've stared into the void
So many people I've annoyed
I have to find a middle way
A better way of givin'

So I haven't given up
That all my choices, my good luck
Appear to go and get me stuck
In an open prison
Now I am tryin' to break free
Be in a state of empathy
Find the true and inner me
Eradicate the schism

No-one can take it away from me
And no-one can tear it apart
Because a heart that hurts
Is a heart that works
A heart that hurts
Is a heart that works

A heart that hurts
Is a heart that works
No-one can take it away from me
No-one can tear it apart
It may be elaborate fantasy
But it's the perfect place to start

Because a heart that hurts
Is a heart that works
A heart that hurts
Is a heart that works

Placebo?  I need real drugs to stop the pain.{#Frustrated}
This is just horrible.

Isn't that redundant?  This sounds nothing like any Rush tunes I've heard: it's melodic and poppy sounding.

I just remembered that there's a Juliana Hatfield rocker, "Universal Heartbeat," that uses the same lyric:
A heart that hurts
Is a heart that works

We could maybe use a few more lady grungers around RP?

sounds like a videogame tune (that back synth)
Sounds like a bad song from Rush... {#Skull}

I like the intro.
I love placebo but I'd rather have the drugs..

Sounds bout right.{#Yes}
A heart that hurts is a heart that works? Perhaps temporarily, as such pain may also be a kind of radar detector for the Grim Reaper. {#Skull}
yuck....
Sweet, straight-from-the-heart lyrics!
okay, that was really bad. It sounded like a bad attempt at an old Beatles sound.
Nice beat and vocals, I like the layering of the sound.

That second vocal track saves the vocals.

Catchy.

  Yes it does

Cool voice and a cool song. I like how it rocks...but just a little.

I agree....he's trying too hard or something, but it's not real anyway I guess.

funny how that sounds like 'a friend in need is a friend indeed'

"A heart that hurts is a heart that works"

I like it.
Well, this placebo is hitting the spot and curing my Tuesday morning blues! 7 from the Nottingham jury.
I have been contemplating adding this to my placebo collection. This sample does not necessarily convince me I should. The 6.9 seems apt. Any Placebo fans out there believing otherwise?
Great segue from RJD2...for a nearly a minute I didn't realize a new song had started. Well done Bill.{#Clap}
New?
{#Guitarist}whoo!!! Placebo!
