Is this a rejected Meatloaf song? Jack is singing unusually bad in this song and he should stick to guitar because his piano skills are not complementary........And Meg, just do us all a favor and die of a heroine overdose already.
That's a classy comment about Meg. You and Pat Robertson oughtta talk amongst yourselves.
Drug = Heroin
Admired Female = Heroine
It seems you simply don't get it. The new CD was a departure to shake loose fickle fans like you.
Saw them at Red Rocks Monday night. 9th row. Great show .
My damn next door neighbors woke me up at like 4 in the morning by playing this song at top volumn. So I hate it already. But, that aside...I am still not sure whether I would like this song...Kind like a drunken monkey banging on garbage cans, or something.

She's a little heavy handed on the drums, no? Almost clumsy like, it seems. Not just this song either...
This is a great song and the whole album is unbelievably good. I believe is it not a depature, it is quintessential White Stripes. You either like it or you don't.

Ditto. Where's the <>>> button?
yup, I listened with an open mind. Dreck.
I guess it's understandable that these new WS tracks are getting slammed. Unconventional music often evokes knee-jerk negativity.
They are trying something a little different. It takes some adjustment. At least for me.
Adam Sandler's the lead singer for the White Stripes?
This is pure dreck.
It appears Jack and Meg were hype weary and thus little promotion for the different sounds on this album. Regardless, I'm at Red Rocks August 23rd....
wow. this song is getting slammed here...admittedly, it IS a bit odd...but...I like it - it's fun, quirky, interesting. I'll take those traits any day over dull, formulaic c*&p we get tortured with on FM these years.
keep the oddballs coming!
Are people still dropping acid or something?
I really like the Stripes and this record is a departure for them.
This song, however, is just interminable.
:(

Is this ripped from vinyl? Or is it due to some ridiculous 'copy protection' which screwed up the error correction on the CD that this sounds like a worn out record?
With all the other music in the world, how could this have passed the screening process and made it on RP? Please, for the love of God, make it stop and go away permanently.

I looked up Ho-Hum in the dictionary, and lo and behold, there was a picture of this song. Go figure.
I have yet to hear a WS song that I felt was worth the electrons it took to record it.
00:14:01...
I don't normally publish negative comments but, but, but....
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cue the puke emoticon.
bright eyes?
No Sale. Wake me when it's over.
Hmmm. anyone wanna bet this album tanks? Nice sentiment, but nothing that hasn't been done before. Snnoooozzzeee....
Anyone else hearing the Stones? (Weird I know, but close your eyes and picture Mick... on second thought, don't do that.)
Album is released in a couple of weeks - well done RP!
Is it just me, or does this garage rock band sound more and more like Joan Baez every day?
But it's still great music.
White moon, white moon
Breaks open the tomb
Of a deserted cartoon that I wrote
Creature come, creature, creature
My own double feature
As I'm warming the bleachers at home
Well, my nose keeps on bleeding
'Cause it's Rita I'm needing
I better call out a meeting of the boys
Of the boys
My friends are all dying
And death can't be lying
It's the truth and it don't make a noise
Oh Rita, oh Rita
If you lived in mesita
I would move you with the beat of a drum
And this picture is proof
That although you're aloof
You had the shiniest tooth 'neath the sun
Easy come, easy go
Be a star of the show
I'm giving up all I know to get more
To get more
Photograph the picture
Young grunt pin-up scripture
For locker-tagged memories of war
A mirage, this garage
And a photo montage
And a finger massage from the host
Good lord, good lord
The one I adore
And I cannot afford is a ghost
Is a ghost
Proto-social is the word
And the word is the bird
That flew through the herd in the snow
In the snow
Lemonade me, then grade me
Then deliver my baby
And if my friends all persuade me, I'll go
Blink, blink at me Rita
Don't you know I'm a bleeder
And I promised I wouldn't lead her on
But she met me, then led me
And I ate what was fed me
'Til I purged every word in this song
