In my happy home I barely breathe
In my lover's arms I find relief
And there's a sky that's changing and a bird that sings
I never once in my wayward life was heading to run out
In my lover's arms I wait for morning
I beg my god to speak and tear me apart
I'd lay down my body I'd lay down my arms
I never once in my sweet short life meant anybody harm
In my happy home I read the signs
In my lover's arms I move in time
There's no more crying and there's no more lies
I never once in my sweet short life was waiting for desire
And there's no more crying
And there's no more pain
I never thought for one second I'd have nothing left but shame
In my happy home I barely breathe
I never once in my wayward life was heading to run out
In my lover's arms I find relief

I wondered... it's very atypical of Shirley. Much more Dylan-esque scooping, as if trying to keep from falling off a log.
5 minutes of a straight downbeat is just a bit too much. Ohterwise it wouldn't be too bad.
I've wondered what happened to this band. Now I still don't know.

Dear God...this is terrible, make it stop!
Same guit technique as miss white stripe's drumming, someone once refered to as "a five year old on a sugar rush"
Garbage had a few good tubes when i was a teen.
It's not aging very well.
It doesn't seem that you are either...

That pretty sums up the whole album for me, and I've been a fan of theirs since the beginning.
lots of glitches on 64AAC+ stream :-(
Garbage, yes it is garbage.
I've heard so much better from them, way back when.
I've given it a three, strong ending.
I LOVE SHIRLEY MANSON........

It really cometh alive at the end, shame they didn't incorporate more of that in the rest. Were they ashamed of the S. Ros connection?

Agreed.
But I'd rather just listen to Sigur Ros and be done with it. The ending of this reminds me rather strongly of "Untitled Track 8".

hadn't really heard much Garbage until recently - this song doesn't really do it for me but "Why do you love me?" off this album rocks.

I miss 2.0. Still, I respect them for trying new directions.
I like the new one as much as 2.0 or the original (we won't talk about BG).
And I like this song as it's a nice way to end the album.
A was really upset, when I just heard this song...
Can't believe this wonderful radio plays Garbage... Thank you
it seems like an "old " 90's sound. i think they need to experiment more.
I miss 2.0. Still, I respect them for trying new directions.
I need a girlfriend like GARBAGE! (some pun intended)
i'm a big fan of garbage. although i haven't bought the new album, 2 songs i've heard on RP are just repetitons of old albums. nothing new. hope the rest of the album is different (fingers crossed).
Hmmm... not much in the way of technique, but if it sounds cool....

me too... not a good comparison.... still a good song.
Hey, I thought it was K's Choice, at first! Though I appreciate that band, the differences in favour of Garbage became clear, when the song continued. That's because the playing and production is more daring and adventurous, I think.

Great song!
I can't believe this band is still together.
They seemed like such a one-hit-wonder when Version 2.0
gained some traction.
I've been living in Madison, WI since before Garbage hit it big. The major media here have been covering them non-stop since then, so it has seemed like they've always been here, have always been big, and were always going to stay together.
Don't get me wrong. I like the band, but still.
Sigh. So damn provincial....
This is how I feel a lot!!!!
I like the ending of this song much more than the rest of it.

Guess I'll be first. I'm so glad garbage is gonna do something again. I missed shirleys voice. and so far every track I've heard has been great. I'm anticipating this album greatly!
