Shine through the light
So my thoughts won't
Have to fight
For your love
Just to see you in me
Hurts too much

Mind fills with the thought
Love you till I caught
Fish in the sky
Impossible to fly
See you walk away
Why can't you stay and

Shine through the light
So my thoughts won't
Have to fight
For your love
Just to see you in me
Hurts too much

High from above
I see the words of love
Decay to the ground
Betray what I've found

Similar but less driving rhythms.
Immaculately stoned to this track✌️
This song puts me in the headspace of cruising around in Grand Theft Auto in singleplayer, late at night IRL, spacing out and listening to Vinewood Boulevard Radio.
A very obscure group but they sound great!
Fantastic!
Oddly, can't find this song on the Just for a Day album currently. Probably some download seller shenanigans.
Hmm. Pretty, but it's not going anywhere. Like a cool cloud in the hot summer sky.
Slowdive is a nice thing with the right woman...

I'm with you.  I really thought it was the Cocteau Twins.

For people that don't know this band is made up of:

Neil Halstead
Rachel Goswell

Both of whom went on to form Mojave 3 (also heard on RP) and they both have solo efforts too (Neil's solo stuff is also featured on RP).

That was exactly what I was going to write...  So - this song is awash with lush, layered harmonies and a sense of magic.  I like it a lot, too. {#Meditate}{#Sunny}
This has a Mike Rutherford sort of vibe...maybe...kinda

Sounds v much like the Cocteau Twins methinks.

Meaningless comment, especially coming from a PT fan.

Mmm, shoe gazing to Slowdive! Yes!

Highly reminiscent of Verve's Feel - B-side of She's a Superstar . Of the same year as this song, btw. Nice

yes. best soundrack ever.  love this atmospheric shoegaze.  more please!  maybe some chapterhouse

could've sworn this was the cocteau twins. they had heroin to blame for their dreaminess, i thought...

I'm sure it would be much better in a 420 kind of state.

Uh-huh. And what pop/rock music isn't "self-indulgent"? Artists don't play primarily for their public, unless they're running as a business like boy bands, they play for themselves. Complaining about self-indulgence in music is like moaning about speeding in the Indie 500.

I would not find a better way to say this. Very true.

Goodbye Bush, hello 21st Century.

...if someone told me this was produced by ivo watts-russell and john fryer i wouldn't bat an eye...

You might want to check the sock drawer for weed and/or acid.
A nice beginning to the day for me. Foggy and dark here today. Wish I were listening to this while sitting in my upstairs room with a second cup of coffee.
Reminds me of "One Too Many Mornings" by Chemical Brothers

me likey. need to check out more of their stuff.
It's cool to hear how this band morphed into Mojave 3. A talented bunch of folks
Wow. First time hearing Slowdive on RP. I thought I was the only person in the whole world that listened to Slowdive. Perhaps it is time for me to learn how to upload a song. Erik's Song from the Just For A Day cd is fantastic.
Again, gotta say I love this...a slowdive is needed once in a while amongst all this stress!

No, no, no.
This is counter-acting an entire French press of dark roast. Getting hard to th . . . what was I saying . . . ? But I like it. Sometimes you need to just go into a little trance state . . .
Cocteau Twins anyone?

I guess the trance-y people like it. Me, it makes me want to jump out of my skin and sets my teeth on edge--one of those who doesn't cotton to being hypnotized. Not to the point of drinking poison, though.
It is very rare indeed for me to have such feelings about an RP song. This time I must agree, however. This is maddening!
Really sounded like it could have been on the Lost in Translation soundtrack. Nice.
Yes, we need something calming after those Yeah Yeah Yeahs!

My god I love this... just got back from a rough meeting at work to here some slowdive... set me at ease, made me smile and helped put life back in order... thank you. Eddie C
Slowdive? Yes, it is a slow dive. 6 --> 5 Shine. Ummm, no not really.
I like it!
I haven't heard this in a looong time. It is nice to hear it again. Good drawing, painting and doin' it music. Man... I wish i was doin' it now....
Sounds a bit like Elizabeth Fraser from Cocteau Twins. She did some beautiful stuff on her own and has a song called "This Love" with Craig Armstrong from his Space Between Us compilation, amazing.
Wow, that went nowhere.

Wow, this really makes me wish I was stoned. Hippie, Bran, Bun-Rab, where you at?

Nope, me too, but its females instead. Enya-esque? Whatever it is, I like it. I have a similar sensation to biting into a York Peppermint Pattie. Feeling a deluge of cool icy drops of water. Standing behind a waterfall.

i'm a sucker for shoegazer

More from Slowdive!!
Neil Halstead + Rachel Goswell = beautiful song
My boss doesn't like me taking naps in the middle of the workday, so I best not listen to this anymore.
It's 2:50 am here and I need to get to bed. This helped. I guess that's a good thing.
Hurrah! More Slowdive please!!
One of my favorite shoegazer bands of the 90's, changed into Mojave 3, with a very different sound, but not less enjoyable
cool.
Comparison isn't a bad thing when I compare Slowdive to the Cocteau Twins, like others have done.
Yummy! Bring me back to earth softly. . . .
Lush, with a little Cocteau Twins thrown in for effect?
Nice bit of etherial-ness to daydream to-oh here comes the boss...back to work!
I'm with Winter....could this be MORE Cocteau Twin-like? (I like it!)
Etherialistically very nice. Interesting sounds. I like the wave pulse sound.

More please! Excellent stuff.
thanks for the Aural Ether. Yawn.......
I can't hold onto this ... I had to hit the mute button. White Noise ??
Shades of Cocteau Twins. Brian Eno producing is fine by me!
Yikes. Looks like I'm the dissenting voice this time. I don't like this at all. Reminds me of trance music, but with nothing to recommend it.

We think alike. More melody where there was noise with My Bloody Valentine, but the production is similar. I can't understand why a band like this hasn't become popular yet. I really liked this one, Bill. Please play it more often!

Surreal. Sounds heavily influenced by My Bloody Valentine (not saying that's a bad thing - more bands should have been).
8) V. Nice. Thanks for this one.
:sunny.gif:
That was quite enjoyable.
Now this is why I tune to RP!
Slowdive - great Eno-produced group. Thanks for playing it.
