It happens in the smallest ways
It happens all the time
But if you've never had your sight
What's it mean to be blind
Now maybe they all just pretend to be
Or maybe we're not trying
Can't we just be happy for awhile
It happens all the time

All these little suicides
They hardly make a mark
I can take these fun-house rides
I'm a natural in the dark
I'm a natural in the dark
In the dark

If I could give you that
I'd give it all the time
You're just a little tired today
Tomorrow you'll be fine
If love heals anything at all
We should be flying
If I could give you that
I'd love you all the time

You're everything I've ever wanted
You're everything to me
Is there no stopping when it's started
These old hearts just come apart

It happens in the smallest ways
It happens all the time
If I'm not who I used to be
Well, it's not to be unkind
And if you feel these aren't your better days
Oh, I don't mind
Can't we just be happy for awhile
It happens all the time

Has that "YOUNG GIRL" on the cover of Blind Faith's album ever commented on her experience of the photo shoot now that she is an adult?

For what it is worth, according to Wikipedia, autotune was not invented until 1997.  The release date is 1994 for this recording.

How can you not stand Shawn Colvin?  I mean I get that she might not be your favorite, but what do you find offensive about her?

Yeah, well I see the album cover; I hear her sing that she's a natural in the dark, in the dark; and I can imagine how that voice sounds in the dark; and "little suicides" may refer to self inflicted "little deaths"; and yes, I am also a child.

But I heard something different tonight: "If I forgive you that, then I give in all the time.  I'm just a little tired today; tomorrow you'll be fine.  All these little suicides, they hardly bear remark."  I was married for 25 years, and I understand.
Surprising!!! to hear here the Golden Palonimos! cheers!!!
I bought this CD from a record store (Silver Platters) back in 97 or 98, and the packaging included a black band wrapped around the middle, under the cellophane. I thought it was pretty ridiculous.  Little kids can see more in the National Geographic magazine in the doctor's office.....

Nicely written tune, but singing isn't the strongest. A 6 at the best.
YEAH!!!!

That's interesting to think about someone from Russia making a reference to Beavis and Butthead.

America, what a country! (Russia too)
Is there something off about this song or is it just me? In some portions she appears to be singing a bit off-key, while the instruments are too loud or the beat is behind her or something.

I just noticed how this is a little like Shawn Colvin meets Indigo Girls. Very nice.

It's fantastic.  I would also recommend "this is how it feels" which also has Lori Carson on lead vocals

Lori's music is sometimes quite beautiful. Some of it is downright spooky. Some of it touches sunshine. Some of it plays hopscotch over the gravestone.

Now, see, there's a MASSIVE difference between government-mandated censorship and community-agreed-upon censorship, and I'm a little annoyed you made that leap. It wouldn't even have to be censorship for all users; it could be a simple profile option for individual users "hide flagged album art", similar to Google SafeSearch. I am allowed to listen to internet radio, and to a limited extent surf the web at work. Images like that one are right out.
The album tends to follow (maybe 'wallow in' for some) this general ambience. I heard this on RP and, having Amoeba Music available within walking distance, was able to pick this up for about $3. Worth it.

All these great comments, and it only has an average 6.8 rating? C'mon, people!
You got me, baby. Gorgeous track, superb vocals and musicianship all round.

RP, you ROCK the world, RATTLE cosmos and hum the airwaves for playing Golden Palominos.
Yesterday, I heard this song on RP. It was the first time I heard "Little Suicides" since I was in High School. For me, it was interesting to listen to it, with the perspective of a 31 year old and interpret it completely differently than how I did at 18. I've been humming and singing the refrain since. Time is interesting.
I'm going to have to give it a 'D'.
I like a lot of GP music, along with Lori Carson solo work. but my wife hates it. we like it and hate it for the same reasons. for me, Carson's breathy vocal style is kind of mystical. for my wife, Carson's breathy vocal style, and others like her, are just, well, breathy.

A little, but this singer's voice is nowhere as lovely as Harriet Wheeler's, IMO.
I can\'t concentrate with that album cover on my screen.

I don't know about that, but Lori Carson sounds just like a singer that was doing music for The Family for a while. (The Family is a religous organization, by the way, not a music group.) In any case, I love the sound of her voice!

The song made me pause from work, and I keep replaying it in the Real Player. IMHO the combination of melody and voice are heavenly, soothing and unlike anything I've heard before.
I thought 1 was too much but then I saw the album cover. Instant upgrade to 2. Her voice is not firm at all and reminds me of the "is this burning an eternal flame" whatever song. Eeeeeew.
I'm in love.
Dang, that's purty.
I didn't mind this song much the first or second time I heard it but each succeeding time I hate it just a little more...
B O R I N G (except for the nipple on the album cover-w00t!)
Anyone else getting shades of the Indigo Girls? Definitely hitting my mood. Nice one, RP...

A great older song with Stipe is Boy (Go). Great guitar. I've seen (well, heard) Lori Carson live twice. She said it wasn't her on the cover of Pure.

The solo stuff I've heard doesn't match up lyrically to the Palominos. Maybe I need to hear more? Or would you agree?
