GREAT TUNE!! ICONIC!!  I was 11yrs old when this came out, & I bought the 45. Brings back memories!  Thanx RP!

My sister had the Italian version of this on a 45. She loaned it to a local DJ and never got it back. Even so, I can still hear Mick singing in Italian in my head. "Il sole sta per tramontaaaaa...."

A very evocative song - makes me think of black & white newsreels of Mick and poor, doomed Brian Jones. Well done for playing this. Yeah - think it was for Marianne.

I read somewhere that two of them were locked / locked themselves in a bathroom and had to come up with a song before they could leave. Wonder if its got a blue plaque on the wall?
