I'm only happy when it's complicated
And though I know you can't appreciate it
I'm only happy when it rains
You know I love it when the news is bad
Why it feels so good to feel so sad
I'm only happy when it rains
Pour your misery down
Pour your misery down on me
Pour your misery down
Pour your misery down on me
I'm only happy when it rains
I feel good when things are going wrong
I only listen to the sad, sad songs
I'm only happy when it rains
I only smile in the dark
My only comfort is the night gone black
I didn't accidentally tell you that
I'm only happy when it rains
You'll get the message by the time I'm through
When I complain about me and you
I'm only happy when it rains
Pour your misery down...pour your misery down
Pour your misery down on me...pour your misery down
Pour your misery down...pour your misery down
Pour your misery down on me...pour your misery down
Pour your misery down...pour your misery down
Pour your misery down on me...pour your misery down
Pour your misery down...pour
You can keep me company
As long as you don't care
I'm only happy when it rains
You want to hear about my new obsession
I'm riding high upon a deep depression
I'm only happy when it rains...pour some misery down on me
I'm only happy when it rains....pour some misery down on me
I'm only happy when it rains...pour some misery down on me
I'm only happy when it rains...pour some misery down on me
I'm only happy when it rains...pour some misery down on me...
pour some misery down on me
pour some misery down on me
pour some misery down on me

Yaza baga waga. Gulp.
She is on flame throwin fire breathin redhead.
the Separation Agreement is FINAL
It also sounds quieter than current recorded music. Annoying that music keeps turning up the volume.
Please play more Garbage. They get it: RnR.

The band created in 1993 are: Scottish singer Shirley Manson (vocals, guitar), 45 years old, excelent performer on stage, with an impressive physical appearance and aesthetics, and American musicians Duke Erikson (bass, guitar, keyboards, percussion), Steve Marker (guitar, keyboards) and Butch Vig (drums, percussion), are experienced musicians, with a mean age about of 50 years. All four members are involved in songwriting and production of original songs.

I was struck by two things in this essay, the odd punctuation and the fact that the age of the female band member was mentioned but not the age of any of the male members...just saying...seemed odd. Nice essay, I agreed with some of it but certainly not the bit where only a person that can't make it in business or academia would choose art as a career. Perhaps I read that wrong, though.

Good post, really? He makes the exact same post over and over and over. It is actually quite wrong in several ways. First and foremost, no band can simply go out and sell lots of records at will, with or without a record company's help.
Let's be really cynical for a second and say the record companies really do have that kind of magic wand and skill to manipulate the "masses" like that. If that is true, then that ability to manipulate is still a very real skill, it is an art. Getting lots of people to buy records, entertaining them, pleasing them in that manner, would definitely be considered an art form that requires great skill. It would not be the same skill as making truly great music, but it is still a great skill.
If you follow these things like I do, you'll notice rather quickly that to be a famous anything (poet, philosopher, painter, etc..) then the genius is almost always twofold: (1) skill in the art of self-promotion (or someone's promotion on your behelf) and (2) skill in the art of the medium itself.
He does have a point about artistry, but that quality in the artistry is very difficult to pin down. Every single act that he considers to be "sell-outs" or "crass marketing ploys" have very serious followings by devoted fans. I could dismiss as crass Coldplay, Elvis, and Ray Charles, music I detest and I think extremely commercial, and ALL rap. But there are many people who think they are the cats meow.
The alternative rock & electronic band Garbage ended their hiatus in 2007 and began work on their fifth studio album in October 2010, "Not Your Kind of People" was released on May 14, 2012 via the band's own independent label, Stunvolume Records.
This is an example for many artists, to they do not find themselves hostages, and manipulated by the publishers, voracious easy profits, which relegates, and often ignore of artistic quality, and seek to impose on radio stations what should and should not be displayed on airplay (through sponsorship), and thus manipulate and guide the public taste.

How could not it be, here's some advice, this time for Shirley Manson: it might be good for her, take a californian-sunbath, not necessarily at the beach, at the beginning of the morning or late afternoon, to tone the skin a little (she is a type of skin color "greenhouse flower").
One last word to say: We've seen watching an emergence of new singers, bands, duos, I dunno, proliferating like mushrooms, throwing hundreds or thousands of records.
Anyone who thinks has some way to music (the lack of stable employment or academic career), comes to wanting to be an artist.
The problem is that this stunned oversupply, a lack of equivalent quality, which in other times, no producer would accept even an experiment. Today, it feels that it is all too easy, too "over the knee," to lightly, as a simulated climax.
The artistic level for new talent is very low, if not horrible, because they are not able to create and compose "songs made from root", from the use of traditional instruments, then resort to artificial electronic processes and samples of pre-made in studio, the latter also of very poor quality.
Today, will soon play for radio, then easily accepted in the summer festivals (to fill time with cheap artists, to established artists at the end), easily nominated for "premium" "awards" and are already at a glance, alleged "stars". And this is how it works, the machine market.
No way.
That is to say today to this poverty of musical creation, are the bands with more than 20, 30-year career, they feel the "call" to re-enter the scene, i.e. band Garbage.

I have to give a nod to the phrase "precocious ejaculation" you will find below if you can follow it long enough.

You my good sir have hit the preverbal nail on its head.
Even the persistent precipitation outside doesn't help me like it.
This is profound. I want to say more, but I don't think I can add anything to this.
watching them do this live is a profound experience...
Butch Vig - great producer - good drummer -found himself an excellent frontwoman in Shirley Manson.
Love Shirley and her accent. She has the right heroes - Patti Smith and Chrissie Hynde.
you got it.
Too easy.
Ahh... embarrassing high school memories.
Not in the slightest.. I'm right there with you. This song is a great advert for depression.
Mind you, my ex-wife always said that seeing Garbage playing live was what prompted her to take up what turned out to be an ill-fated shot at pop stardom. Music lovers the world over should berate Garbage loudly for being such a bad influence.
Yep.
And I think this came out in 1994, not 2004.
Anyway, it's raining here and I'm happy. Good enough.
..... i'm only happy when it rains too
Yeah, I second that. Overall, I liked this CD, but this track was one of the ones that really stood out.
Yep.
And I think this came out in 1994, not 2004.
as a side note - the playlist says this was in 2004 - i'm thinking it should be 1994...?
You go Shirley!!!
