Summer in our sky ships, forever, sailing the wind.
Somewhere Sunday morning brings us miles from earthbound, sailing the wind.
September, keeping kite time together we summon the wind.
Swaying to a gentle lady's breeze of ocean, sailing the wind.
Up among the clouds I see my face miles below,
Tugging on the string, a travelin' thing in my soul.
I've got half a mind to close my eyes and let the string go, sailing the wind.
Children, bring your kite lines to come and summon the wind.
Tomorrow we'll be watching a sad sea and star bound, sailing the wind.

This is painful to listen to. One of the few Sucko-Barfo's I've ever rated.

Didn't Kenny foist "Smuggler's Blues" on us as well? Truly a "Make It Stop" classic.
A long way from “The Jesters” or “Danger Zone”, this is so mellow and lovely.

I love the sax on this. Hadn't heard it in years. Agree with the previous posts that after this album...commercial pap. Sigh. Beautiful set, Bill.

Grew up with this album. so it brings sweet memories to me. Love every cut. I notice that this one isn't getting a great score. I guess my memories make up for the discrepancy.

Another song I’ve never heard before. A nice chill vibe, and as a sailor, I like it!

Agreed. Just play the front and back sides of the album in full, that would be grand.

Isn't that a bassoon that you heard?
I think I heard a bass clarinet in part of the song; it sounded pretty cool.

I would not want to hear this song over and over, but it is good to hear it for the first time in years. That is what RP does best. Okay, put it away for a couple of years.

Yeah, but who could imagine that Kenny Loggins would go on from there to produce miles and miles of tedious commercial dreck for the movie trade?
Probably because of the smell of money.
Oh WOW !
I really need more Loggins & Messina on RP.

I agree. This album was the pinacle.
Your momma don't dance and your daddy don't rock and roll to this one either.
Not a fan of the Loggins and Messina, but it fit the set.

Whoa! Flashback to my teens! I had this album, lived in Ft.Lauderdale, did a lot of sailing, so I really liked the album for that reason. So my objectivity in judging the music is impaired.
wow...watched the rating start from a ten and drop to 4.3 in seconds...tough but correct crowd...
One of my favorite groups of the mid-1970's. Still remember seeing them in concert at Duke. Having said that, this was never one of my favorite songs.

But yet you rated it. If only you had a Yacht you could sail away in.
