More importantly, however did you come to be here?
Though a stranger, you can rest here for awhile
But save your energy, your journey here is far from over
Come the sunrise we'll descend through Judgement Valley
And weigh your worth before her majesty, the Verde River
No direction, but to follow what you know
No direction, but a faith in her decision
No direction, but to never fight her flow
No direction, but to trust the final destination
You're a stranger till she whispers you can stay
You're a stranger till she whispers that your journey's over
Weigh your worth before her majesty, the Verde River
Weigh your worth before her majesty, the Verde River

In general with all RP music: constructive critiques are always worth reading. But taking the time just to post that you don't like it? I mean, music's like that, different strokes and all that. Just sort of redundant and pointless to post "I don't like this".
I don't like this comment.
is there any other kind?
Yeah, the "angel" kind.
one of the worse songs ive ever heard
worse?
Maynard deserves better.
Here is some constructive criticism:
It has plodding tempo, repetitive and uninteresting guitar line, and a voice too reminiscent of lame outgrowths of the grunge era like Bush or STP. Just can't dig it. The obtuse lyrics don't help.
Yeah, but I LIKE it. It's interesting and engaging to listen to, creative even. "Obtuse lyrics" bwahahahahaha
Probably just me..I think he sounds a lot like Micky Dolenz
Are you saying that's a bad thing?

Those who can, DO.
Those who can't, babble on about the comments ~
Nice tune...Maynard has a wonderful voice !

It is going to take a few more listens. So far not really my cuppa but there is no denying how tight it is. I totally get why Tool enjoys a big following.
Look over, and it's the guy from Tool!
I can get behind this. It's not mindblowing but it caught my attention and that's what RP is so great at!

Sure. But we could also say that about everyone who posts "I like this."
Also I don't like this.
And I do like the tune.
The more I listen to this particular song, the more I like it
Where do I start? Album suggestion please?
I always got the impression APC was more Billy Howerdel's project whereas Puscifer is mostly Maynard's baby.

And yes, to those who are wondering … the band name definitely does allude to "Devil Pussy" Have you seen their logo?
And there was me thinking it was a mash of Pustulent and Lucifer

I went away for over a year solely because of this and other 'bands' of this ilk being on virtual repeat.... having come back the mix has gone back to what it used to be thankfully and this sort of trash is only played occasionally thankfully!
You win the internet for Today!
YAY!

Yeah, I know, I know...

I was just about to say something similar about your post, but I won't. For the rest of you who actually listen to the music: interesting song; bizarre album.
not sure what 'turgid' means. bit I agree.

Yeah, I know, I know...
It's unlikely that Maynard Keenan has ever performed at a renaissance festival. Maybe he secretly wanted to.

Haaaa-haaaa!
Bad-bad comment indeed!
There are 7 billion kinds - I can insure you!
agreed. really not RP quality...
Good.
{devil}
Always makes me turn it down. It's good to be different though
is there any other kind?
And it just did! Are you a wizard or something?
I thoroughly enjoyed that exchange.
You obviously softened them up. It's like opening a glass jar with a tight lid - you struggle and struggle, then pass it to someone else who then opens it with the slightest effortless twist because you've loosened it up for them.
Hey, this kinda sounds like "The Spring Standards".
(not really. I'm just messin' with NeuroGeek :)
I still think the cover looks like something from a cheesy 70s porn flick :o)
Fifths :)
Cool.
very cool.....

Some people just take time to come around i guess :)

me too. it may have just changed my life.
Lol..:thumbs up:
No Autotune - Just Maynard's er, distinctive voice + some unusual harmonies from Carina Round. Just listened to this nice & loud — quite an impressive tune despite its low cumulative rating.
Cool.

PS: The Verde (Green) Valley is near where he has his vineyards. The Verde River runs through the Valley. Its about 50 miles south of FLagstaff and 90 miles north of Phoenix. But who really effin cares...
I care. Is it near Arcosanti?
Has anybody ever tried Maynard's wine. Curious to know if it's any good.
I tried his "Anubis." The grapes came from CA because his AZ vineyard is still being established. The vines are young. The wine was very good. At the time (about 2 years ago) he only had one vintage from AZ and it was pretty pricy. I'll probably get a bottle one of these days though, to see if it is any good.

What is a PUSCIFER?
Song is GREAT! TRUE CLASS! AND POWERFUL - yes!
Actually that's Maynard & Carina Round (who's touring with Puscifer & sings on this album).
For some reason I keep thinking of the shot in Rolling Stone of Arnold in his speedo holding Dolly up. Bulging body parts from each.

I couldn't say what the lyrics are about....but The Verde River they may be singing about......well there is one in the Phoenix AZ area....
