Who needed that sixteenth beat anyway?

What's wrong with 15/16 time anyway?  Tony Banks famously used it to great effect on the intro to Firth of Fifth.
Emiliano Durutti was an anarchist commander durig the Spanish Revolution of 1936- 1938. I just thought youse might find that bit of trivia interesting:o)
Thanks again RP!

Not aware that Vini was the late Vini
Nice syncopation, reminiscent of Newton Faulkner a few years later. Sound world v reminiscent of Madonna in her most interesting period between Fever and Ray of Light.
Durutti would have loved this, so anarchic

PERFECT!
I was guessing Brian Eno... not even close!

This is nice, tho!
Probably my favorite "I can't find this anywhere but RP" song. I'm not really ready to splurge for the album, but I have seen nothing on YouTube or anywhere else, so I may need to take the plunge & just buy the dang thing.
Truly Richie Havens style for me... love it!!!  wakes me up and keeps me going

Excellent  (Richie Havens too, super great : )

Richie played in alternate tunings. Can't tell with this if it's in an alternate tuning or not, but the heavy accent on the percussive rhythm of the guitar is clearly "Havens-ish." Good ear.
Nice to hear from Durrutti Column, can we have Otis?

Something about that guitar line, the operatic backing... suddenly I'm in a sunny field with grass blowing in slow motion

Edit: followed by Xavier Rudd and his birds... Bill's enjoying the spring it seems :)

Reminds me a little of something Malcom McClaren put out years and years ago: "Madame Butterfly" with samples from the Puccini opera and summary of the plot by the bounder in the story, Pinkerton.

Initially thought it might be some Dave Matthews/Tim Reynolds thing.

Cool song!

Is it just me, or does the vocal in the background on this sound like it's been sampled from the backing vocal in Peter Gabriel's "Your Eyes"?
Cool - never heard this before.

Anyone figure out how to get a copy of the single mp3
of this song?
Has a bit of Grateful Dead vibe to it. I like it.
Loving this!!

Simply put...Love that rhythm. Love that song.

This song is good for the ears...

This is a LOT sunnier and peppier than most of the DC stuff I know. Quite fun. Love the opera singer/synth thing in the background.
I can't find this anywhere to purchase! Ack! I'm not really interested in the whole import CD. The artist's own web site doesn't have it for sale. I love this tune, but maybe it shouldn't be played if it's not available. Grrr.
Very cool!  Manic rhythm acoustic guitar accompanying — an opera singer?

Yowza...  everybody in my church demanded that I turn up the volume...  we be dancing and speaking in tongues...  love this song!

Hmmmm. I didn't think I liked Durutti Column
 this is quite nice!
