got a bit of a soft spot for the Neville Brothers as they supported these guys quite a bit (you can also hear a bit of their influence I think)

Since we (deadheads, that is) are accustomed to hearing 20-30 minute versions of this song, perhaps following the Neville Brothers version with one of the shorter Dead versions would be an interesting medley.  Hell, make it a long version.  There is nothing like some of Donna's caterwauling to wake one up in the morning.

Unfortunately, I find that the only redeeming aspect of this version is the sax-driven intro. As noted by others, this song lacks something, specifically fire.

After hearing this song so many times live by the Grateful Dead, and having seen the Neville Brothers open for the Dead for a New Year's Eve show, I have to say that I was ready to skip this with the first few measures. The NB rocked the arena with their set, which fortunately did not include this.

A nice treat to hear some Neville Bros. here, even if it isn't the most inspired cover. With such a wealth of outstanding material, not sure why the NB don't get more airtime. Their cover of Steve Miller's Fly Like an Eagle is outstanding, not to mention a sea of fantastic original material dating back to their Meters days.

Thanks for this one, hope to hear some more...

I like this song for what it is.  The Neville Brothers' version is the only one I've heard - had no idea it was a Dead song, and now, knowing that, it doesn't matter. I still like it. I could change my mind, though - I've had a glass of wine (after a pretty brutal day at work), the sun is shining, and I have tomorrow off, so who knows what could happen between now and, oh, tomorrow?{#Roflol}

Cyril's vocals always seemed much too forced for my liking.  Love the songs with Aaron or Art taking the lead.  Aaron's boy Ivan is also very talented and is the 5th Neville on stage.
