When the ringing bell falls deaf, we go look for dark
Where no flag is waving red, we look for dark
Out where there's no whites of eyes, out where there's no stars
Casting far and watching night, we go look for dark

To get da
To get da
To get da
To get free of the feeling

Past the grave and Vicar's House, people packed in bars
All the chaste and junkies raising hands to God
Down the alley, sleeping rough, pressing darkness
To the ground, he cannot touch, we go look for dark

To get free of the feeling
Free of the feeling
Free of the feeling
Free of the feeling

Streetlights and cameras were separate and alone
Orphaned and alien down here where stars shine wrong
The book might tell me what to think but the pulse is what I know
The infant goes right for the drink, my heart beats on its own

Free of the feeling
Free of the feeling
Free of the feeling

Out there is no sky that has been named sky
Opening no heaven that has been named, let it rain
Out there is no river that has been named river
Washing over no sinner that has been named, let it rain
Out there is no tower that has been named closer to God
Watching over no children that have been named lost

I woke the wet moon
I woke the wet moon
I woke the wet moon
I woke the wet moon

Was hearing but not listening to Bill's and thought he said the band's name was Just Can't Poop.  Fortunately, that was not the case but I bet poor Jesca heard that plenty growing up.
Not a fan of the album cover, but love her music.
why am I bopping my head to this?
OMG this track is mesmerizing! Love it!
I don't like that album cover either, but this song is really cool.
Santa Rosa in da house!  Coffee house, at least

Precisely, as I look up and ask... Well stated.
Certainly one of the most hideous album covers I've ever seen.
I like her voice well enough, and the song is OK.
Pleasant - liked a handful of songs from her House That Jack Built album a few years back - esp Born To and Hospital 👍

Maybe you should listen to iHeartRadio then
The cover art is a bit creepy ... but the music is interesting.

I must have been in a really bad mood when I rated this track: 5->7
The music is deliciously creepy.
I like this. And I saw Jimmy Hendrix once upon a time in Santa Rosa.
saw Hoop live last night (Elbow support) Really quite good.
I really love this wonderful, weird song.
This was ok until that high pitched "I woke the wet moon" at the end.

Next track must be pressed at that point.
"Get out the fritos!"
No kidding, she was born in my humble little town of Santa Rosa....never knew! Her music is pretty cool!
I just said to the wife that I wasn't sure tonights feed was my favorite. She said that it was fine by her and that I could leave. I decided I like this song, really I do.
I'm undecided on the music, but that album cover is truly hideous.

EDIT: I think the music is actually pretty great.  But the cover is still ghastly.

In a nutshell this is why I listen too. The number of artists I have been introduced to via RP must number in the 100s by now. Artists I would never have heard or heard of listening to mainstream FM. Thanks RP.

Oh, that would be so much better than the opening act they had years ago - forget who it was but it was all downer songs. Luckily Elbow brought us all back up!

Early Background was promising with tasting notes of Tom Waits and Talking Heads. Too many cloves in the stew for me though. Like. The beat

She was Tom Waits's kids nanny!
Saw her live opening for Sinead O'Conner. Jesca, however, stole the show. Also she was the Nanny for Tom Waits' Kids, which is fun.

I love all her stuff!

It would be a nice track if it was 2min long
This makes my ears prick up. I even hear shades of Kate Bush in there.
I'd like to hear it again.

Thought it was Suzanne Vega when I first heard it...
Well, it's...different.  Not thrilling, but it's an interesting arrangement. I dig the attempt to sound unique.

What's wrong with paying attention? Not paying attention, especially to art, is what's wrong with today's society.
I was working and listening and this comes on. I thinking 'I like it.' Its familiar. I've heard it before on RP. So I switch to the window of the station, see the cover art and Uggggg! That again. Enough to give you nightmares. Music's cool though.
Most excellent. Thanks Bill!
More Jesca Hoop please, RP!

Not to mention the cover art.

Would be a good advert for Lemsip - together with the track title!
most excellent set Bill!
Growing on me - I like it!
Wow, this is different! I love it!
I think I like this a lot.  Not sure yet.  It did make me stop typing and listen for a bit.
The stereo separation sounds absolutely amazing. Bravo engineer(s)!

3 -> 5, skipped this track last time, gets better as it goes along.
