Thought I found a way
Thought I found a way out (found)
But you never go away (never go away)
So I guess I gotta stay now

Oh, I hope some day I'll make it out of here
Even if it takes all night or a hundred years
Need a place to hide, but I can't find one near
Wanna feel alive, outside I can't fight my fear

Isn't it lovely? All alone,
Heart made of glass, my mind of stone
Tear me to pieces, skin to bone
Hello, welcome home

Walking out of time
Looking for a better place (looking for a better place)
Something's on my mind
Always in my head space

But I know someday I'll make it out of here
Even if it takes all night or a hundred years
Need a place to hide, but I can't find one near
Wanna feel alive outside I can't fight my fear

Isn't it lovely? All alone
Heart made of glass, my mind of stone
Tear me to pieces, skin to bone
Hello. Welcome home

Whoa, yeah
Yeah, ah
Whoa, whoa
Hello, welcome home

I kept thinking there had to be some sharp humor in that spelling that went over my head.

I still hope there is and that someone will explain it to me.

Grumpy old man here.  Tried to listen to some of her music on You Tube and shrugged my shoulders.  For the most part I wish she'd wake up before she sings.  I just don't get the hype.

i'm with you. not into it, but i get why others seem to be. to each their own.
If she is taking care about not  to become one of such pop-stars on RTL and other privates, we will expect the unexspected.
Nice music.  Thoughtful lyrics.  But I'd break into a rant if I were to describe how averse I am to it.  It's downbeat, auto-tuned or Pro Tool'd or something to within an inch of life, and while attempting to be different has largely succeeded in sounding like x,000 other current tunes.  From what I've heard of her, this is her musical m.o.  No thanks.  Lovely track.  If one likes fog and funerals.
Great as a sleep aid.

Good looking "babe"?  Srsly?

Well, if honest, Eilish is attractive. But acknowledging her talent does not make her less attractive even in the 21st century. Listener likes to listen to artists he finds visually appealing. Who am I to judge?

Beautiful verification? ;p
Billie Ellish ? ... who is this this guy? is he from some Japanese pop group?
Totally nondescript and bland.
Khalid makes this....sweet
I think it should be called Lovely (w/ Billie Eilish)
Easy 7. Might go higher as I hear more.

I'm also now past my 65th birthday (my current definition of "old"), but still working on my "happy state".  I had similar thoughts as she collected her mittful of grammies, BUT the more I hear her music, the more I like it and appreciate her talent.
I really don't think she cares one wit what old farts think of her music, anyway - she's gonna do her thing and be adored by much younger listeners with or without our approval.

I'm turning 50 this year, and Billie Eilish is the best thing musically in my life since Bowie died.  I discovered her here on RP & I will forever be grateful for that.  I don't think music appreciation needs to be confined by age, gender, nationality or anything else.  Love what you love and be open to new things. xo, Miss Danger
Absolutely gorgeous mix of old and new, top stuff.

Haha, grumpy old man.  Good for Bill for showing that he's not  a GOM by playing some new chit.  Thanks for showing me da light.  :)

And I must be doing a Benjamin Buttons reverse-aging thing, because the more often I hear this tune, the greater is my love for it.  In my humble opinion, Khalid has the perfect voice for this collaboration.  I look forward to hearing more from this duet.
Kudos to her and her brother for achieving success outside of the normal industry channels.

Except you got that arse about face.
Such talent at a young age! Just saw her on "Carpool Karaoke" - was quite funny and I love where she and her brother produce/create. And you must love her name, if nothing else...

The Wikipedia photo of her reminds me of getting stoned right before getting my senior picture taken in high school
Wow. My 19 year old turned me on to Billie (my grandma was named Billie As well). Love that Rp plays her
Good to hear that Lana Del Ray has such an influence on new artists!

shades of the xx here
For the naysayers and the one's that don't know....all I can say is, look more into about her. Her & brother have quite the story. Only thing about this track....Billie is a very outgoing young lady... And, although I agree that it is a good corroboration, it just doesn't seem right, that Khalid, already well known in his own right, seems to dominate the lyrics more than Billie. If her voice had been more prevalent in this cut, I believe it would've turned out to be a more enjoyable tune. imo. Can't hardly wait to see what this brilliant young bro/sis duo have in store for us down the road. Rock on, Billie!! Thnx RP, for giving her such exposure!
That's by RP that i discovered Billie. I like to know "gothic" mind/spirit lives through years by a lot of different style. (I feel it neo-electro-gothic bu probably my vocabular is too old...).
Saw the video...just bumped it from 8 to 9.  Love this!
Impressive artist, who seems to be most concerned about the music and not the perception people have of her appearance. I stand and cheer for Billie Eilish! Great tune too!

Not bad for a then-16 year old!  Going with my standard 6 rating on new tunes that I'm not yet sure about....fits well after the Alt-J track "Something Good" so at least BillG has put this one to good use....Long Live  RP!!

Amazing that this song has 50 thumbs up.   Followed by 40-something more twice.  I don't recall ever seeing more than 20 for any other comment (and the comment above is a 6)?

Wow, she's looks like a happy go luck person!

This isn't bad but I just can't handle listening to someone born this century (not yet anyway).
I echo the comments of others.  A decent effort, worthy of a "6," to me.

She's young, not even close to maturity.  But as a representative of her generation she will be interesting to follow; as I suspect most of her generation will be.

Lord knows they've got a lot on their plates don't they?  Some of it is glorious, but there's a whole bunch of stinkin' stuff; a whole lotta sh1t not caused by them, that originates from my, my, my generation, about which they are destined to contend..  I wish them luck with it 'cause they, and all of us, are gonna need it.

So it goes I suppose....

For a second I thought RP had been taken over by my 13 year old's playlist. Well, okay...
First time to hear this one.  Interesting.   Gonna give it a 7.
I had already rated this a 6 (similar system to others - unknown starts at 6 until more listens).  It's not doing anything for me on the second listen, in fact I'm getting bored... 5 for now - might revise with more plays.
One of those artists I heard *about* long before I heard the music. That's an automatic downgrade usually but I already don't really like it, so I'll just leave it at a 5.

Nudged up to 6. Probably a 7 but lets not get hasty.
I'm intrigued by this artiste. She is original, she does her own thing and is not fabricated. Good luck to her!
Lovely corroboration
Going with a 6 on first hear.

I've upped rating to 7.  It's the duet vocals for me.
