Babe you've been feeling poorly
I've been dealing with stress
Why don't we go out tonight?
Put on your favorite dress
Let's drive
Into the night, into the light
Let's ride
Put on an old blues song
Let all our troubles be gone
Let's drive
Feel like I've been a prisoner
Of my own desire
I've been such a bad listener
But I hear you tonight
Let's drive
Into the night, into the light
Let's ride
Put on some old blues songs
Let all our troubles be gone
Let's Drive
Let's Drive

30 miles from Santa Fe
Bound for San Anton
Even though it's dark out here
I don't feel alone
Let's drive
Into the night, into the light
Let's ride
Put on an old blues song
Let all our troubles be gone
Let's Drive
Put on an old blues song
Let all our troubles be gone
Let's Drive
Let's Drive

Is it just me, or does Joe's RP "Artist Picture" look remarkably like Agent Smith? <grin>
The stuff Bonamassa has recorded with Beth Hart is off-the-hook good.
Love this song, and the drum beat.  Very fitting, for my ears.

I hope he has a happy and worry free life! Trouble and heartache are not a prerequisite for good music I hope!
nice segue to Drive out of Neil Young chaotic Like A Hurricane to the smooth Joe Bonamassa.
Realised I'd stopped working and was just sitting here listening and tapping my feet....
Solid "7" from me, possibly to be revisited in future.

2 months in the future....and its now an 8 - for exactly the same reason :)
Good tune!  Great guitar player. Joe is hit or miss for me. This is a hit!
I have the CD. But I hear it on RP more often.

Such a nice vibe.
Some early Fleetwood Mac would fit right in after this one...
Anytime we head out on a road trip, this is one of the first songs we put on.  As we cross the desert, my wife and I just smile at each other as Joe sings about driving.  Makes me smile even standing at my computer at work....

Otherwise known as The Chuck, Garlic City, The Onion, Oil Country.....take yer pick....
Saw him live a couple of years ago.  Might not have the most accurate vocals, but he sure makes up for it in style, passion, and energy.

My dad used to play an old crusty Shadows tape on his old crusty yellow Ford wagon. Coming back from the beach with Phil Collins, the Zepp, the Floyd, Shadows and old greek songs blasting through the open windows, open hands to the wind...
Hope youre playing this to you children (and their children) too

I hope all people feeling inspired by the lyrics decide to drive electric cars!

Allegedly, Jeff Beck drove up to Eric Clapton's house in one of his hot rods and Clapton
showed him his Ferrari...Beck said, "Anyone can buy those; these you make..."

One of my all time favorites.  Saw him in Charlotte last year and he played for four straight hours with no breaks.  Fantastic!
All of his stuff is so good , please keep
Joe Bonamassa in the RP rotation....
Saw Bonamassa perform at the Attucks Theatre in Norfolk, VA in 2008.  Been a fan ever since.
Joe is constantly touring. You gotta see this guy smoke that guitar. YouTube Slow Train from the Beacon Theater.
Gotta stop everything when this song comes on.

Your non  sequitur response to that odd comment is:

For several years, Billy Gibbons has appeared wearing a braided-cloth cap rather than his familiar Stetson hat. During a visit to Vienna, he met the chief of the Bamileke people from Cameroon, with whom he traded the hat for the cap.[23]
interesting that he has the same birthday as Robert Johnson. preordained maybe

If you mean he hasn't led a life full of sorrow and pain ... didn't know that was a prerequisite for musicians.  Sure, we like to think we discern a tough life when hearing a blues vocalist, but isn't that just projecting our own unconscious ideas onto the singer?

The truth is, I have no idea whether Mr Bonamassa has had a tough life.  Sure looks like a Blues Brother of Elwood and Joliet Jake, though, and we KNOW they had a tough life.
If Billy Gibbons had Parkinsons, G-d forbid, he would sound like this
Just. Stunning.

Thanks for another one RP!!

i hope you did it. a cool thing to do in a 63 caddy ragtop, maybe with horns on the hood, with a bowers and wilkins sound system playing this song would work. any direction as far as you can get, but remember that car is so big you can live in it. so you keep your drive.

RP, thanks for introducing me to this incredible musician
What a beautiful guitar solo. It‘s rolling along with the pulse of the song so well. Like watching the waves come in and you‘re zooming and see the molecules churning inside
This is absolutely incredible. 10 as no 12 available. {#Bananajam}

Saw Joe B. again at Red Rocks August 23, 2017.  Seen him live five times now and I swear that was the best.  He's getting better with age.
There is a free download for a live version of the album on BookFace. Outstanding !

I am so ready for this song.
Joe please come to Ottawa.

I could put this on a loop and mellow out.

HE's incredible in concert.  Just saw him a couple weeks ago... 2 person horn section, 2 backup singers, the drummer from the Letterman show, keyboardist and JOE... what a show!
Interesting, a less bombastic Bonamassa.

Oh Yeah!....  JoeBo...  Was just starting to plan a road/offroad trip for April.  Perfect!... :)

I've found that some older blues fans recoil at his popularity. They liked him at first when he was unkown.
Excellent!

Awesome.  Tribute show honoring Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck with Joe's take on their tunes of course.  Joe never disappoints and neither does the Red Rocks venue.

He's got a great voice when he's restrained. When Joe tries to holla...it feels a bit forced, like he doesn't feel it in his gut. Robert Cray had the same sort of problem, except that he just sounded too vocally polished to really be feeling the blues ("Night Patrol" was the huge exception. Wow).
{#Dancingbanana}Oh these drums...

This one kind of sneaked up on me as I was sitting here working—that part of the brain that does such things suddenly went, "Whoa—what's THAT?"

The song rotation frequency is getting a bit ridiculous on RP.. not just this but other songs are getting played daily.  This never used to happen.  Are their playlists being cut down already because of the royalties issues they're dealing with?

They tend to play cuts from new albums a little more frequently for the first month or two after the release.  This album probably came out a little over a month ago so that's likely why this song was played 9 times in the last 30 days (which is not really that frequent).  The playlists don't seem to have been reduced as far as I can tell.

Update....rest of the CD is great.  Not a bad song in it.

Really really digging this one.
This song seems to be in nightly rotation.  Why don't we hear some other songs by Joe Bonamassa?

Perfect for a long car trip.
Nice white boy blues.....  Kinda like this, kinda like that but original and very compelling.

Looking forward to additional listens.

RP rocks!

Hearing some Auberge from Chris Rea in this
sometimes it's just really nice to hear real talent do its thing in a nice understated way. cool.
Sounds good on the first listen.  Made me want to linger.

9 plays in the past month, eh?   OK, I'm listening seriously.
ZESTY !
I hope the rest of the CD has this groove.  Seeing them in May and want to hear more!
cool, little more toned down than his other stuff on RP, but I like this.
He's seems to be channeling SRV in this one - never a bad thing.

This sounds more restrained than most of his past OTT blues jams.  I'll start with a 7 and look forward to hearing it again soon:)
