Have seen these guys live in small venues a few times (Hamilton) and in a dense crowd 10 feet from Gordie as he did his thing.   Very fond memories - these guys are tight.   Great driving guitar and this song is a great example.

Sad news recently for those of us who were forever inspired by the  Queen Street west music in Toronto, Bamboo Club, Horseshoe Tavern and late nite venues that appeared and disappeared .....Big Sugar bassist Garry Lowe dead at 64 after battle with cancer

My report: everything has been done. This tune is amongst the everything that's been done and hence it seems to this Bear a bit boring and redundant. As a proud Canuck I've been fortunate to see these guys at least 6 times. Whether in a bar, an auditorium or outdoor festival it has always been great, and they have a reputation for being one of the loudest bands around. By the end of a show you are physically drained from the constant jumping around and mentally drained by the musical onslaught.  Guitarist Gordie Johnson is a national treasure, and leads this reggae rock outfit with style.  Also, he was in the Southern band from Texas known as Grady.

They have that clean, modern sound- totally empty, utterly derivative.  It's as if they said "Let's form a band and copy Paul Butterfield songs in an unskilled, soulless style!" You can't tell if they're a bunch of studio hacks, or an actual band that has been overproduced and engineered sound JUST LIKE a bunch of studio hacks. Ugh.
