Thoughts becoming her
Mean on, let it
When our lips come together
I come over
Wake up notices you made it
Beauty, baby
When our lips come together
I get older

One more time
And this is what you wanted to know
You are mine, hope
One more time
And this is what you wanted to know
You are mine, hope

Got yourself in the … constant, content
You are over my shoulder
Distant, past
When our lips come together
I come over
As we're coming our present
I get, older

One more time
And this is what you wanted to know
You are mine, hope
One more time
And this is what you wanted to know
You are mine, hope.

Definitely has a Parsons Project vibe.
Love those marimbas.
Supertramp meets Alan Parsons.  Good stuff.
I like this style, especially this song. Thank you RP.
Trying to reconcile this with the only other song I know from them "It's Way With Me".  Can't.  Cool.
Frankie say RELAX
Every time I hear this song by Wye Oak, which is very cool, the end makes me think of some toy that's making noise until someone smashes it to stop the noise.

Why (Wye) you didn't find this song in iTunes or whatever:
This was available by free download originally from AdultSwim, looks to be available elsewhere now (beware from where you try to get it). It is apparently not a part of Wye Oak's own catalog.
It's my favorite song of theirs, and apparently doesn't fit most of their works' genre from what I read once.
Ends a little odd, but if I just skip fwd at the odd spot, it is all-good!

You can get it for only a dollar from their Bandcamp page.
From 7 --> 8!
Just really feeling this today for some reason.

Every time this starts I think it's the Fixx.....then I think it's Jon Anderson.....then I smile to see it's neither, but it sounds as good as if it was either of them....
Guitarist is reminiscent of the Police's Andy Summers - same cool reverb.

Yes, it is reminiscent of that sound.  It's a loop of marimba, not xylophone or vibraphone, and it's apparently meant to emulate the 'minimalist' works by Riley and Reich - they're not trying to fool anyone. It was composed as a one-off single for an Adult Swim series, and is quite different from their other work.
You can stop now.
My kind of groove.
I think I've heard this before — oh yeah, 1980s Yes.

This is the same band that does Civilian ?
?!?!?! Civilian borders on brilliant, this borders on horrible (throwaway schlock, at the least).
My humble opinion....
Brings to mind Martha and the Muffins.
I like.

Very interesting. This is at the upper range for oaks. Possibly if its friends had not been cut down centuries ago, this tree would have been buffered from winds. Actually, white oaks, which is what I believe the Wye Oak was, grow in every state in the eastern half of the United States - as far north as Minnesota and Maine.
Cool tune.

The Wye Oak was the honorary state tree of Maryland, and the largest white oak tree in the United States. Located in the town of Wye Mills, Talbot County, Maryland, the Wye Oak was believed to be over 460 years old at the time of its destruction during a severe thunderstorm on June 6, 2002, and measured 31 feet 10 inches (970 cm) in circumference of the trunk at breast height, 96 feet (29 m) high, with a crown spread of 119 feet (36 m). It is believed that the acorn that became the oak germinated around the year 1540.

In 1939, the Maryland General Assembly purchased the tree and almost 30 acres (12 ha) surrounding it and established Wye Oak State Park.

i have a decemberist poster with Wye Oak, so this is them? I had never heard them before, not bad
Anybody else hearing Steve Reisch / Music for 18 musicians in this?
A little weird at the end, nobody really wanting to end the track. But it's wonderfully "ambient" and a winner for me.

My first thought about the guitar-intro was definitely "Alan Parsons' Project".
I used to be a fan of APP, but it smells a bit cheesy nowadays.
This one is quite OK, but it ends up a bit flat. It could do with a bit more "Bang".
1! Not more!!

I really like it! The vocals have a little too much delay and reverb, but great track. I generally prefer less processing on vocals (Dido is a perfect example, no effects at all). Some of the vocal processing Peter Gabriel used with Genesis on The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway was interesting, but it generally lasted just for a line or verse.
What a great tune!  Loving the female voice!
