This song came out about the same time I started listening to Radio Paradise, 14 years ago now. It was a big reason I stuck around. Still think it's in my top 5 songs from the last twenty years. Off the top of my head, I can't think of any others at the moment, but I only got 3 hours of sleep last night so I can't think about much of anything right now.

This song helped me process my father-inlaw moving on to the other side before we were ready. That wailing guitar, I wailed right along with it.

This one always bring tears to my eyes... Some of the most densely-packed tragic heartbreak novels' worth of feelings cleverly and melodiously jammed into one of the most jamming songs EVER!
Fun fact: Sing the "aaaah aahhh aaaaah" bit (at aound the 3:30 mark) along in the presence of babies, and they WILL cry. Something in the tonality makes them so instantly sad somehow. Tried it on both my daughters, 5 years apart, and never failed. Could be my singing, though :-) But seriously try it.

I really like this song, but I'm going to have to overlook an issue with it. I really hate it when bands stitch together an ending onto a song that just won't finish. It's as if this is really two songs Frankensteined together.

13 years later and it still sounds as majestic as when it was first played on RP. It's so good.
I absolutely adore the distorted guitar in this song. Provides a beautiful dynamic for the more subdued sections of the song.

Yeah, I don't get this one either. I think Ruby Falls is a great tune. Maybe even a representative one for the band. But they've done plenty of other stuff that is just as good or better. Look no further than the title track of their latest CD.

Yes, the brass is good. THe lyrics too. I never heard of this band but I will look them up now. THank you RP. THis is really a great station, my friend was not kidding me because I thought I knew the best that was out there (from satellite), but I see now I was wrong. Happy to know you now

Phenomenal Live band- seen on a couple of occasions years ago when my daughter was too young to drive herself to concerts. Love their passion and humor. And the relationship they have with their audience- intimate, no matter the setting.

A few folks have commented on the lyrics. To me, they seem like word salad. If you think you see a deep meaning, you may be right, or perhaps it's an aural rorschach?

I've been enjoying this cd a lot. Although it's hard to match the accomplishment of this song, most all the songs have grown on me and the cd is lasting very well.

I always expect to hear the first chord of the song "C'mon" after this fades out. I'm surprised that track isn't on RP. "C'mon!"

I don't usually do this kind of thing, but for some reason I can recall three separate Guster shows where I had snuck somewhere I shouldn't have been and ended up having an awesome time. One time I saw them with some friends at the Berkeley Community Theater in Berkeley, CA. The upper mezzanine floor was closed and it was just general admission on the ground floor. When the band before Guster finished their set, we went out into the foyer to check out the merch and stuff, and I snooped around and found the way up to the upper floor — and it was unlocked! We waited for our moment and all sprinted through the door as quickly as we could, shutting it behind us. When we got up there it was completely empty, we had the whole balcony to ourselves and never got caught. We sat front and center and smoked joints and rocked out the whole show.
