I had a plan
That was built on thinking too long
Canadian winters
At home with your sisters
the romance was hard to ignore
You were beautiful
I was happy to fall
So happy to fall

I remember you searching
I thought you were searching
that's how I picked up the phone
Happy to hear you remembered the view
So glad to assume it was fate
I thought at the time it was clear
I thought at the time it was clear

So I stood at the station
With a plan and a pocket of poems
Heroically tragic
Bearded and blind with obsession
I'm a car without hope
Too close to the ditch to go far
I showed you my field
I said this is my field
But you weren't impressed

You said why are we here
Your motives are clear
In this room with a view
and so much of you
is so far from here
it's so far from here
it's so far from here
it's so far from here

Oh my heart
It just fell apart
And i wished I could show you
The same view
of you by the window and me
feeling fine
And me just feeling fine
Yeah me just feeling fine

Yes, there's a bit of that in there.  (NY's Words)

Really?

I used to listen to Words in the early 1970s from both the Harvest and Journey Through the Past albums.   Used to play Journey Through the Past LP on a mono player as I went to sleep.

Will have to listen more carefully to this song next time.

Scroll through the pictures and you'll see
a favorite view of mine ( in fact, I made it one of my screen backgrounds  ).
Unfortunately, I don't have 1.5 megabucks to purchase the property.

Sorry.  Haven't had much time to spare lately.  By the way, I drew this.

OK, so I didn't draw it.  Fine.  Whatever.

And it's me on the pedal steel.

It's all part of the grand musical network of the human tradition.
Awesome to hear Neil Halstead's voice on this tune! I never knew him in those days, but now that I do, I'm really liking this. Thanks RP

Why does this still not have an album cover?

i have one called "Puzzles Like You"  that has several beautiful, gentle songs on it. worth checking if you like this kind of stuff (Slowcore?)

One to download.

Or a pedal steel.

Like the Stones, for instance. And as for Septics borrowing from the Mother Country, where shall we begin?
i like that dreamy pedal steel
From a 7 to a 9... must check out CD.
Great transition from mike doughty! Pretty good song too
How lovely, the song, the title, the album, the idea Mojave 3, the name!

Same here. If I remember correctly, it was even rejected (yes, I hear jokes coming my way). Glad it found it's way on the main channel

Actually, this whole C.D. is pretty good.
Now I'm hearing Neil Young's "Words" - maybe I need to switch to the news...

Perhaps you'd like to see RP play Death Metal. That would wake us up, but I think I'd rather be mellowed to death than Metal'ed to death. But that's just me.
