Oh man... brazilian girls singing in spanish actually hurts. Some info about Brazil

Were they Brazilian girls, would they more likely be singing in Portuguese?
Poem 15 of the Twenty Love Poems and a Song of Despair poetry collection by the Chilean poet Pablo Neruda.
Have seen the a couple of times, and they're a blast!  You may be severely fun-resistant if you can keep still and not grin 'n spin at their shows.
If Mozart could hear this, his head would explode. In a good way.

they are NOT Brazilian. Or girls ,for that matter (ok, one of them is, apparently. Girl, I mean). It's just a name. They're a bunch of guys from NYC.

Don't get me started on Boards of Canada; no boards no Canadians in the band at all.

I like it when you're silent because you're like not here

The Hula Girls would really freak him out.

This is one of my favorite albums, in part because it's so eclectic. Their songs are in multiple languages, including French and German. Such fun!

Me Gustas Cuando Marginale

I ws thinking the same thing!! what's going on here?
That's no girl...
Saw these 'girls' perform a few weeks ago....man are they out there! The lead singer was dressed in the weirdest thing I've ever seen. That said, it was a really fun show and she's a talented performer! (I've heard that she speaks/sings in five languages!)

From what I can tell from translations (I should just learn the language), this is really quite a romatic poem. He's kind of saying, I like to imagine that you're not here because I like to look up and discover that you are really here.
My God it's still playing!
way more points for neruda, but the song's pretty fun.
I like the nipple on the album cover. Other than that, this stinks.
(sarcasm) I'm glad you're broadening my horizons. (/sarcasm) I give this song a 2. And I'd like to see ya try and dance to it.

This is "Poema 15" from "Veinte Poemas de Amor y Una Cancion Desesperada". Although I like this poem, I don't like that much this song.
Another pleasant suprise.
Here's the original poem:
Man, if only the rest of this CD were as good as Homme. Sadly, the rest is, in fact, quite bad.
I love this cd. I dont feel that this is the best song on it, but, as a whole, its a good listen. Great for bopping around the house!

Uh... last I checked, lots of people sing in other languages besides their own.

Was it my imagination or when this song was played a while ago was it credited as Harry Manx? Anyone else notice?

No wonder I love this song so much. I should upload Dance 'Til the Morning Sun... that one's fun too.
See this band live. Good music to shake your ass too. And sexy as hell.
I actually like Neruda's poems ... but I've never read this one. Thanks for the tip ... I'll have to look into it. nick_valensi wrote:

Not my favorite from this album, though I have to give them credit -- songs in German, English, French and Portuguese. The whole album tends to have a trip-hoppy/bossa feel, which I kind of like.
I didn't know.....but it sounds good....
You have to wonder how the idea for their album/cd cover was pitched to the band....
