I've got ways to make you sorry,
Start my life with someone else.
I've got ways to make you fall,
I'll tell you all the things that I lied about.
I've got ways to make you mad,
Laughing at the girl sitting on your lap.
I've got ways to make you sing my songs,
Ones I ain't wirtten yet.

(Chorus)
I've got lights you've never seen.
I've got moves I've never used.
I've got ways to make you come back to me.

I've got ways to make you strange,
Drug you up and drag you home.
I've got ways to track you down,
In all the places you like to go.
I've got ways to make you crazy,
Wear all the things you always wanted me to.
I've got ways to make you run,
My daddy is coming for you.

(Chorus)

I've got ways to make you hear me,
Just by whispering your name.
I've got ways to make you think,
You'll never be happy again.
I've got ways to make you see,
I'm so much better than before.
I've got ways to make you swear,
You won't want your old life anymore.

(Chorus)

Most honest feminist anthem ever. A true recognition of the might and power of an awakened woman.
Beautiful, forceful, consuming, relentless.
Love her, but beware.

Fancy a steam-cooked bunny? :)
I totally agree. Not sure he'd like to see those moves, though.

What's your point?

Thank you.
Love Kathleen! It would be nice to hear some other songs of hers besides this one and Goodnight, California. Asking For Flowers is full of good ones.
It's the most beneficial raindance song in their times. All my best to you! Or, by lyrics, "let it rain", Eric Clapton
I got it.

The tour: her, Lucinda, Sam Philips, and KT Tunsill. With PJ Harvey joining them along the road.
I've got ways to make you come

"Walk This World (I Want You To Come)" by Heather Nova should immediately follow this one, of course.
Ah well, she tries her best....
Super nice rock-chick-shout-along-song. I'd feel quite tha man if my girl would sing it to me, HAZAAAA
...Not sure if a girl would feel the same though if a guy would sing it to her...

I also like this small-girl hubris. Challenge accepted, btw, if she wants to prove herself! :)
7-8, this ROCKS!

I agree that it has overtones of Lucinda Williams but who cares.  It WORKS!
How can you not like this one?
Rockin' good time. Maybe there's another side to this story?  Dwight Yoakam Little Ways

A fine example of Canadian RnR...that sound that Canadians understand in their souls.  I've never been able to define the exact contents, but my American ex could always pick out a Canadian act when I'd play them for her.  She said that they shared a common base, an understanding of heritage that sounded quite common to the untrained ear, but was very obvious when one listened for it.  From Kathleen to The Hip to Blue Rodeo...the maple leaf runs through the blood of so many of our favourites.  Glad we get to share it every now and then...
Nothing sexier than a woman that knows what she wants...and can rock out...

Outstanding solid 8
New album just released...check it out.
The album cover makes me think of Wyeth's Christina's World...
Wow this lady is good

Well it sure is missing some 80's synth, so I guess that makes sense.
Every time I hear this I can think of dancing with my wife (and I can't dance) in a way that leads to...

One thing about her...she has excellent ear for  R&R and she attracts other good players. Like the guitar player on this song.

Yes, similar production, but entirely different chord progression.  As pointed out farther down the page, Benmont Tench from the Heartbreakers plays keyboards on this album.
Ripping it up!  Oh yeah, and creepy, sorta....

Yes, I think she (and/or the designer) was certainly influenced by that painting.

Kathleen projects a really fine figure in that cover photo, and a super song

Hey....what about Kathleen touring with Bob Dylan (the previous RP song played)?

I'd go see them.

One of the best stalker/disgruntled ex songs ever!  Don't mess with Ms. Edwards.
Holy shit.
Unfortunately, no - the tour has been canceled, no reason given. We can only hope that since there was at least a plan, there could be something else in the works.

This type of country rock is surely needed for the crap they are currently calling "country rock".

It sounds like a pretty cool place that Kathleen has put together in her home town:

She's doing something that she loves. Something new and different for her.  That is well received by the community that she calls home.  I hardly think that is lame.  Lame is more like a person who criticizes someone they've never met over a life decision that is none of their business.

Yes, I say congrats to Kathleen for doing what feels right for her.
She's proved she can be a successful musician (if she wants to).
The music/celebrity business is not for everyone.
Also, think of the countless musicians who had a few good years and then spent literally the rest of their lives going through the motions, playing their decades-old hits on the casino circuit.
Not a big surprise after hearing this song, but KE was a big fan of Mr. Petty and Co. when she was growing up.
I've got ways to stop hearing this song (thank goodness). Seriously, I just don't like this.
..... a very worthy BIG 9

{#Daisy}oh, haha.  Reading the comments below, I sincerely doubt Kathleen is a 'witch', lol.  The lyrics are no more vindictive that 99% of male lyrics along the same thoughtlines.  Her voice, IMHO, is very E Brickell ... and I LIKE it!
pls stop playing this crappy song.  good lord.

I hope she is still rockin in her coffee shop in Ontario during this "hiatus" from making music.

She's a rocker and has a long road in front of her.

Well, I don't know much about women, but I'd suspect she didn't realize such measures were necessary — until the moment she did.  Boy, am I glad she's not my girl.

I freakin hope the average age is 17, because your typical 17-year-old is not listening to anything near as good as this.
One of my least favourite songs from one of my most favourite singers. I love putting all her albums on shuffle on a long drive. This is one of the two or three that get bumped as soon as they come on. The rest, though, are fantastic.

And she's wonderful to see live...
