This is more than I wanted
Take me out of the dark I roam in
Cold and black you are out of touch here
Lightly falling you whisper you're scared

It's the weight of the world I know
As I struggle to be whole
It's the weight of the world I know
As you are mine and we will find

This is stranger than love or loss
Turning backwards you face the dawning
No excuse for a wasted life
Lightly falling through a whisper of sky

It's the weight of the world I know
As I struggle to be whole
It's the weight of the world I know
As you are mine and we will find

Time will change
Still the world remains the same
Time will change
Still the world remains the same

It's the weight of the world I know
As I struggle to be whole
It's the weight of the world I know
As you are mine and we will find

I agree!

Is this a demo or acoustic version? I dunno, Wally...
How this band managed to stay off my radar for so long I’ll never know. So much good music

I agree!

On the other hand, I love this song.

The bass alone is worth 7...
 Flying Fin dear,

Very good on scene !

time may change. . .
still the world, remains the same

{#Guitarist}
Oh yes — loves me some BRMC  {#Hearteyes}  (this one's totally got that Love & Rockets vibe)

BRMC has a very cool sound, but they lose their luster after a few songs.
Just today i thought of Bill is saying..modern , multi ,media ,mobile device= and at that moment, he comes along with this.!
This is a nice tune!!  thanks!!

Pretty good, sounds more Marc Bolan-inspired than anything to me, but I suppose everyone hears different things.

The band name always gives me the wrong impression before I hear the tune. I expect something noisy and heavy, but this is good stuff! I'm beginning to warm up to why Bill enjoys them so much.

STFU!
...and world weights a LOT!

I agree completley. I have sent my message also. But I must note, I am a registered voter and I did not vote for any of new members of congress which now control the agenda!!!

As a biker, I must like these guys on principal alone. But, by golly, they are pretty darn good, too. Rock on, guys!

My Sellout meter is pegging on this. This could be the old sound and really rock out - but sounds like they're trying to be "radio friendly".
Selling out? Radio friendly? I only wish I lived in a world where this sells like hotcakes and gets serious (terrestrial) radio play.
I purchased this from Amazon as a result of hearing it on RP.

Some Ween would fit nicely after this tune...hint, hint...
I think that was the first time i heard that song and the band name is long enough, i I'd have heard it before I would have remembered. Usually lyrics don't mean anything but I liked those. they were different and sounded heart-felt
The More i hear from this record the more I like it.

A great song and album. Sadly, both have been way underrated.

This whole album is hardly a sellout. This song may be radio friendly, but the rest of the album has a different sound.

This is my request! Thanks Bill! I just saw the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club open for The Rolling Stones in Wichita. The lead singer is gorgeous--HOT HOT HOT!

This is all IIRC, of course. For my part, I think Howl is BRMC's strongest record to date, and more of the tracks off it ought to be played. Maybe I just like intelligible lyrics.

I adore this song. My discovery from RP.
Sounds like Tom Petty with gonads. Nice.
great live band. they still bring the rock.

I have to admit the band's name fooled me at first, but I'm actually liking this very much.
Gotta agree - When I saw the name "Blak Rebel Motorcycle Club" pop up with the black "Howl" album cover I was expecting something akin to headbanging. But this is quite unexpected and quite good.

This has to be the most incomprehensible argument i've heard yet. When are people going to realize that it's not how 'hard' a song is, but the construction and balance of a song that really matters. In my mind, selling out is getting lazy. This is all IIRC, of course. For my part, I think Howl is BRMC's strongest record to date, and more of the tracks off it ought to be played. Best release of 2005!
I have to admit the band's name fooled me at first, but I'm actually liking this very much.
Good song. Good album.
Cool set. Nice play on the homophones "weight" and "wait" and then you wrap it up w/a "world" trifecta. You even got a similar sound w/the word "way" (way/wait/weight). Oh, and that's a play on weigh/way. You racked up some serious points there! Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Weight of the World Elvis Costello - Waiting for the End of the World World Party - Way Down Now Try this one: Talking Heads : Radio Head Radiohead : Talk Show Host
This is a Beatles track I've never heard before. Cool.
these guys brought the rock to the Cat's Cradle last night in Carrboro, NC
Another Loyal listener. Just turned my friend on to RP and she is freaking out. Nice job bill.

It does sound like something they might write. But the voice/voices are all wrong.
Wow. This song is so good.

If you tied one ear behind my back and told me it was an undiscovered Crowded House tune I might fall for it.

Saw these guys live in D.C. and they were GREAT. Thanks RP for including BRMC in your consistently excellent set list.

Ah well, per usual, they score at least a likeable with me, even if they sound just a wee bit Beatle-ish here.
And a wee bit Collective Soul "World I Know"-ish as well.
My Sellout meter is pegging on this. This could be the old sound and really rock out - but sounds like they're trying to be "radio friendly".

These guys blew it on Letterman. They played some nondescript-sounding song, and not very well. Haven't heard much from this band, but what I have heard is just kinda blah.
Wow, thanks for stating what I was about to post exactly. I had seen they were going to be on, told others about it, then they completely puffed out. VERY disappointing for a band whose recordings I've come to enjoy on RP (don't own 'em yet). Ah well, per usual, they score at least a likeable with me, even if they sound just a wee bit Beatle-ish here.
This is a fantastic album. First BRMC I bought. Then I bought their second album and was mighty impressed they were able to pull off such a genre change from one album to the next.

is this stuff notable for something I am completely missing? Wallpaper music, I'd call it ...
these guys are so good that they can change their sound dramatically and still be amazing. anyone see the article in Newsweek about these guys a couple of weeks ago? Good stuff.

At first I was concerned when I heard this album was more "acoustic" than the others. But, from the sound of it I think it was the right way to go, good stuff!
