Can you hear that knocking in your soul
No, no, you don't listen
Can you hear that knocking overload
No, no, you don't listen
Never see the high beyond the low
No wonder, you lay twitching
Do you share the rush to be alone
Come over, we'll go missing

We'll go where there's no snow
We'll go and they won't know
But just please don't give me your word

Do do do

Can you hear that knocking in your soul
No wonder, you don't listen
We'll go where there's no snow
Just please don't give me your word
Do do do...
Just please don't give me your word

All that matters is the music tonight
Just please don't give me your word
All that matters is the music tonight
But you don't listen
But you don't listen
Ah you don't listen

So, we'll go running, running til we start again
Yeah we'll run, we'll run away
Yeah, we'll go running, running til we start again
Yeah we'll run, we'll run away
Yeah, we'll go running, running til we start again
And we'll run, we'll run away

Same. But I was convinced this was a Sundays song I never heard.
Anyone who sounds like the Twins is alright in my book.

Cocteau Twins anyone?
As others have noted the falsetto on this song is impressively done.   It makes one do a double take upon initial listening.  Sets me in mind of the same neck-wrenching twisty twist when first hearing LP.  And all in a good way, of course.
Excellent song - new to me so thanks again RP.
Super song. Many thanks RP.

I actually like this song more after finding out that its a guy singing falsetto.
Pretty impressive countertenor. Great range.
It's kind of amazing what they were able to pull all this off with a 10-note riff.  I guess that goes to show what musical craftsmanship is capable of.
I always think this is Aimee Mann from her 'Til Tuesday days.
Not a bad thing.

Beautiful song.

We also run a regional pediatric 24/7 ER that maintains a pretty hefty deficit. No one's talking about shutting it down for lack of funds; in fact the plan is to expand it.

The tiresome health care debate in the US boils down to who's going to pay - not who's going to be treated.

Oh if only this was typical. Healthcare delivery in America suffers from being captive of the insurance industry. This promoted distortions in the market, encouraging healthcare providers to raise their fees dramatically at the same time negotiating discounts with insurance companies for health services from providers, sometimes as much as 90%.

This created incentives for carrying insurance since the threat of illness now was accompanied by the likelihood of insolvency or bankruptcy. Today, 50% of bankruptcies filed in America are to discharge medical expenses.

It may present in theory that everyone can be treated but that's only true if you have access. Having insurance does not guarantee treatment. I watched my late friend turned away from a radiologist because his Medicare plan didn't  compensate as well as other coverages. On an referral marked "stat" they offered him an appointment three months out. Let's hear again how America's fee for service system will get you treatment at any facility(in network), without regard to state of the art technology.

NHS has its problems, most of which stem from insufficient funding. But in America, we decided a child's leukemia was a profit point. I want to know what OP thinks goes on outside his facility but this comment indicates a certain detachment from reality.
When I discovered RP in 2004 this was one of the first tracks I was introduced to. A lovely ear awakening sound. Mr Gilbert will be miss. RIP.
RIP Greg Gilbert❤️
Is someone's phone ringing throughout?

Tell that to Frankie Valli. I dare you.
And today we are proud to introduce Aimee Mann from Til Tuesday as our guest vocal for the Cocteau Twins!
Reminds me of a band called Puressence - they had a decent song called This Feeling
Good Tune! I never heard of them before. Thanx RP!
I'm just learning today (22 Nov 21) that Greg Gilbert passed away in September of cancer. It makes me doubly sad as this song was a favorite of my close friend Byrd, who died of breast cancer two years ago. In fact I had the lyric "We'll go where there's no snow" inscribed on her memorial stone. Rest in peace  you two, you both brought a lot of beauty into my life.
A really underrated band, great live and very sad to hear that the lead singer Greg Gilbert died this year who was an incredible vocalist.

"Academic Referral hospital". Meaning you need a referral to the facility to get ANY treatment. Can't just "walk in the door". That would seem to be boiling down to "who's going to be treated". "Ability to pay", may have something to do with who gets the referral?
RIP Greg Gilbert

Yes, to me and probably many others it's quite a surprise that the lead singer is a man. But where did you get the impression that many of us think less of the song because of it? I don't think this narrow mindedness is a common thing among RP-listeners and I don't read it in the comments.
Great stuff 😊
Very cool distinctive voice of the lead singer.  Nice. 8+

What? The lead singer is a man? I love that Cocteau Twins kinda sound, but the guy-that-sounds-like-a-girl is...unusual.  Silversun Pickups moves my needle in the same direction. I'll subject myself to couch analysis on that matter.

Here is an article with the latest news (from Greg Gilbert twitter account) - Greg Gilbert cancer battle latest - Delays frontman talks candidly about living with cancer (Source - Southern Daily Echo)
(...)

"Greg is currently enjoying a three month break from treatment, following a far more successful response to chemotherapy than anyone had hoped for.

He is not cancer free; no tumours were visible in his last scan but he has been told that there is a 99 per cent chance that they will grow back.

But today, as we chat in a Southampton cafe, the sun in shining, Greg feels well, and they are making the most of life."

Wish him the best recovery surrounded by his family, friends and band members

Amazingly rich, lush soundscape here — addicting! I got turned onto this by an Ozzie mate named Greg who taught with me at the big uni near Fuji-san and used to throw unforgettable roof-top parties in ShimoKitaZawa and SanGenJaya... Then RP began playing it, and it always seemed to be on my iPod just in time for the train ride back up the Odakyu to Setagaya-ku; this forever takes me back there.
beautiful
The lyrics have always been secondary to the melody and vocals. Now reading them, I see they are resonant.
