I don't think I even read floydoftherocks handle when I made the comment back then.  But I still can't understand how two Primus fans could have such differing opinions on this singer though.   I will say, on this tune he sounds like Ozzy, War Pigs era,  and that's a good thing!

I saw Galactic with opening band High & Mighty Brass Band in Blacksburg, VA, February 2019.  Both were great, but at the end, they did a 20 minute encore with about 1/2 of each band.  F*ing amazing.  I only wish it had been recorded.

Saw this band twice at the Mangy Moose in Jackson Hole. Awesome shows,  awesome band, awesome musicians.

unfortunately they kinda suck balls live w/o theryl decloet (singer...he had to step back a few years ago for health reasons)..

i saw them with theryl years ago and i saw them once when it was just the band (minus theryl) and there was no "show" — just a bunch of guys with instruments trying to fill in the empty spaces.. i recall people looking at each other in the audience being like "why isn't this fun anymore?"

then i saw them in fall '07 when they were touring with a bunch of hip-hop guys and it was OK but let's face it.. the real power of galactic is theryl.. they need to clone him and restore their act otherwise they're not worth seeing even for $10.

Got to meet these guys at Bele Chere this year. I'd heard of them but hadn't heard them. I was certainly impressed. Their drummer has a sort of signature thing in that he uses a second kick drum. Yeah I know lots of drummers use two kick drums but this one is an a antique marching band bass drum. The thing is huge - something like 28" across. I stood by the side of the stage the drum faces while they played and every time he hit it you'd feel it moving the air 20 feet away. Wow. 'Liked the grooves and playing all around. They had my friends, Art & Al from The Gamble Bros Band up several times to sit in and they were pretty nice guys in general. I hope to hear more of them.

Riders on the storm... I've been into these guys for a long time...still love hearing them on RP. Quite likeable tune for me.

I've always liked the word, "ruckus". Hard to work it into a sentence without sounding like it's the only reason you opened your mouth though. Hey, what's all the ruckus about!? Something like that.

These guys are awesome live--white band, black vocalist. Everything grooves. There is some better stuff off of their album "Crazyhorse Mongoose" though...

I've heard several Galactic albums, and it's all pretty solid, rockin' sutff. If you like these guys, the aforementioned Widespread Panic is a good addition, and I would also suggest the North Mississippi All-Stars. Big, fat, noisy swamp rock! It's a good thing.

I had it turned down for a phone call and my first reaction was ewwwww... I turned it up a little and it sounds a bit better made it to a six.

Hmm, Galactic's best stuff isn't on the playlist, guess it's time to upload!

Definitely prefer this band live. But this CD (especially this song) isn't bad. Enlisting Dan "the automator" Nakamura was a welcome influence and I think extends the avenues this band is willing to travel to make great music.

I had always thought this was just another DMB run-on song. Never bothered to check until now.
