She's "channeling"? She sounds nothing like Flo & Eddie. Musically the verses of both songs have a "i-IV" progression/vamp (which is quite common) but other than that they are quite different songs. A lot of Hooverphonic's material does definitely have a 1960s sound though.

Here's a great and completely overlooked band that started in middle-of-the-road and then progressed into what I could only describe as some addled European's idea of a 50's Broadway musical mixed with electronics. This album is the apotheosis of that style. I saw them touring behind BT and their encore song was a lounge version of "Inna Gadda Da Vidda."
HER VOICE, and that time-machine '60s-style music, quickly grabs my mind and sends me to a very special and groovy place, with shag carpets, black lights, bead curtains, incense, and Formica... I have been impressed by many of their great songs over the years.
I'm gonna have to look up this album.

I was about 8 or 9 years old when my parents took met to see Herb Albert and the Tijuana Brass at the Carter Barron Amphitheater in Washington DC.
They were good.

First time I heard this tune was on RP about 2 years ago...another group I wouldn't have thought about checking out. Thanks Bill for expanding the horizon.
I always think of Connery's Bond movies when I hear this album. And yeah, I hear the Star Trek wailing as well.
Her voice and the whole ambiance of the track is intoxicating—when you connect them to the right imagery ...

She's perfect except for the shoes. I would like a more rounded toe, possibly an open toe, but definetly a strappy shoe. I think those ultra pointy shoes are hideous. My wife has some of those open back clog type shoes with a slight heel and a little strap and buckle on it. HOT HOT HOT!
