Draw in close lady bride
Take a look at my dark side
I can't show this to anyone
But you my close and intimate one

My dark side
My dark side

You've got my trust and that's a fact
But please be careful how you act
Drop the jury, leave 'em home
I won't be judged - only known

My dark side
My dark side

I may resist and I may fight
But I couldn't pass here without your light
Don't withdraw, don't disengage
Hold your fire when you touch his cage

My dark side
My dark side

Love's alive in your cheeks
Please don't die when he speaks
Only love can walk between
The parts that fear and need to be seen

All my defences and all my ploys
Are to protect a little boy
I can't show him to anyone
But you my close and intimate one

My dark side
My dark side
My dark side
My dark side....

I've been hurt
But I'm alright
Because underneath
There is a Light !

I don't love this song but Mike seems like a cool guy.

here's a song he made up on the spot for a young fan.

This sounds like a really bad Gowan song and that's saying something.
zzzzz
Pointless, hence not rated.
Yeah, what all the 5s (generous) say. Mike Scott's "dark" side seems to be right up there with James Danforth Quayle crashing his trike into a tree and breaking his arm.

Bill, did you lose a bet or something?  {#Lol}

Right up there with Yoko’s  abominations.....

The glam album cover sets up my expectations for something superficial, over dramatized and self-absorbed.

Sadly, the s0ng does not disappoint.

I very rarely find any song that Bill and Rebecca put on the playlist worthy of a rating lower than "pretty good" (6).
This one is a very rare "3."
Actually, it's amazing to me that most of what I hear on RP is at least "most excellent"!
Fabulous work, guys! Thanks.

"Still Burning" is still  great work, but the first solo album of Scott is better for me, Bring´em All In.

I love the Waterboys, but I concur - this is crap.
Kind of dissapointing - because its got a great guitar tone...and then it sounds like someone trying to (poorly) perform a caricature of Bob Dyllan ala Blood on the Tracks.  The lyrics are just too slow, simple and over emphasized for me.

Sounds like 'My dork side'

x2, seriously what the hell is this shit?

Uploader, walk the plank, along with any that voted "yes" on this.

His voice kills trees
Holy frijoles this sucks!  WTF is this?
Truly the worst song I have heard from RP.  Just crap.  And I am a fan of RP's choices usually.  I kept waiting for that "thing" that RP knows that I miss....that part of the song that grabs you.  Nothing from this song.  I really can't stress enough how bad this song was..haha.
I think people are being a little hard on this song. It has a Nick Drake crossed with a more sophisticated Billy Idol thing that sort of works.

If this is one of the better ones, I'd hate to hear one of the worst.

Geeze.  Sounds like a geeky 16-year-old trying to get laid.
awful. please remove from rotation!

Completely agree. Very sophomoric.

He's trying to be edgy, but just saying you have a dark side doth not a rebel make. ...nor do the rather tame guitar licks. They sound too clean. This sounds like a more finished version of a song he played at his high school talent show.

This is excellent. . .

This is stupid.

Man I just can't believe how Tina Turner is still just rockin' it out like this. All you divas need to stop 'n take a look.

Nah, Patti rocked harder than this. But likable anyway
kewl!
Male Patty Smith?
