this is truly horrific. Aside from the part where Mick isn't singing, there is very little that is appealing about this song.
Couldn't agree more. He just sounds old and tired. He needs something to lean on ... like a walker.

Anyone get annoyed by Jagger's fake Southern US Accent. Its like Dolly Parton in drag. Lets not forget this bloke is a brit. Its as bad as Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins.
  I prefer the earlier Stones stuff and the original version of this song.
I'll never understand the fascination.
Great Song; so-so rendition.

Rolling Stones, huh? I bet this band will go places.
Heheh. I was watching the Stones on television some time in high school, which would be around 1968-69. My Dad made a comment about how these guys will be just a flash in the pan. Of course by then they were already huge, but no one could have imagined they would still be playing 35 years later. But I pretty much stopped listening to the Stones when they got discofied in the early 70's.

The problem with this version is, I can actually hear and understand the lyrics.
God, this is just bad.
I saw the Stones this year in Phoenix. Since they were not promoting a new album, different cities had sets largely based on a single album. As luck would have it, The PHX show was based on Let it Bleed. It was outstanding!! One highlight, although not from Let it Bleed, was a taste of Keef singing on \"Before They Make Me Run\"
Looks like I may be alone in actually preferring this version to the original, though I love other stuff on Let It Bleed (Monkey Man, Gimme Shelter....). The original is just a bit too slow and loopy for me; at least I can bob my head to this version.

Bit too much of a honky-tonk commercialistic sounding version to me. Much rather have the down and dirty original, thanks.

This version\'s too clean-sounding, not gritty or dirty enough like the original. This sounds like the \"Up With People\" version or something!

Love this version! Thanks
It's OK, much rather hear the studio version, interesting none the less :moon:
much like the slower, funkier version by FAR!!!!!!!! don\'t quite know what they were thinking with this one   :frustrated:

thanks for the correction on the album-- i get a little distressed when i read negative comments about one of the greatest rock bands ever! i don't know the album "stripped", and on my sh***y computer speakers, this version sounds fine! ;)

Great song, but done better on Let It Bleed--play just about anything from Let It Bleed and I\'ll be very very happy.
Great relaxed thing Let it roll, baby!

I\'m with Lily on this one. This version sounds pallid next to the studio version. They took out the electric guitars, but left tempo and everything else the same, instead of trying to reimagine it as an acoustic number. Doesn\'t work for this listener.
For tax reasons, the Stones got an office in Amsterdam. This recording in the Amsterdam Paradiso, is maybe a nice way to say thank you. Apart from the fact that this former church, is the most fantastic joint to play in (legendary too). It was as if a revolution took place in Amsterdam, 'cause at the same time, the Stones were 'conquering' the capital, its soccer club, Ajax, won the champions leaque!
Very nice acoustic guitars and piano in this version.
Great version! Check out Stripped, the disc it came from. A truly great live Stones album, with much the same feel as Jackson Browne\'s Running On Empty. Sort of loose and laid back.
one of my favorite stones tracks, however, this version is not one of my favorites. hate to say it, but the studio version on the Let It Bleed cd, is much better IMHO.
Never heard this live version before. Play it again!
I love this song, but I think that it really really lacks a lot in this acoustic version. kind of disappointing.
again - sssswwwweeettttt!
