Sucker love is heaven sent
You pucker up, our passion's spent
My heart's a tart your body's rent
My body's broken yours is bent

Carve your name into my arm
Instead of stressed I lie here charmed
'Cause there's nothing else to do
Every me and every you

Sucker love a box I choose
No other box I choose to use
Another love I would abuse
No circumstances could excuse

In the shape of things to come
Too much poison come undone
'Cause there's nothing else to do
Every me and every you
Every me and every you
Every me

Sucker love is known to swing
Prone to cling and waste these things
Pucker up for heaven sake
There's never been so much at stake

I serve my head up on a plate
It's only comfort calling late
Cause there's nothing else to do
Every me and every you
Every me and every you
Every me
Every me and every you
Every me

Like the naked leads the blind
I know I'm selfish I'm unkind
Sucker love I always find
Someone to bruise and leave behind

All alone in space and time
There's nothing here but what here's mine
Something borrowed, something blue
Every me and every you
Every me and every you
Every me
Every me and every you
Every me

Every me and every you
Every me
Every me and every you
Every me
Every me and every you
Every me
Every me and every you
Every me

Placebo has made a great new album with Tool producer David Bottrill.
I love that record.
This song (and album) is very good indeed.
Black market music, Sleeping with ghost and Meds are less attractive but still very good albums.
Can't wait to see them live someday
Gla mmph-phl ephhhhh
Hideous racket.
C'mon people, this ain't THAT bad! I think it fits well in this set.

this sounds like RUSH ,but without the BALLS.
My first thought was "80s Rush!" Considering that, to say that it lacks "balls" is redundant. I like this, though, regardless of the comparison.
Merde !
god damn this sucks pimply ass! I can NOT stand this guy's frelled up, whiny, nasaly voice, inane lyrics, and boring as all hell instrumentation! THIS AND CAKE SUCK HOBO ASS! :P
What is this, Geddy Lee on Quaaludes? eeeh. I can see I'm going to have to be much more discriminating with my musical palate, or I am going to get a fat ear.
Nice to hear Placebo on here. Though I'd like to hear "Twenty Years" instead... much better track... IMO...

bleah, I'm trying, but I just cant like the nasal whine... maybe he needed the real drug, not the placebo?
Agreed. With better vocals, it might be a killer song.
get off the helium!

Geddy Lee sounds a bit nasal, but this guy's a couple clothespins ahead of him on the nasality scale. And Geddy's not half as monotonal.
HAHA!
Can't really stand the Pet Shop Boys (which this is reminscint of) but for some reason, every song I hear of these guys I kinda like...

I get the Pet Shop Boys comparisons, but Rush? Not hardly. Geddy Lee sounds a bit nasal, but this guy's a couple clothespins ahead of him on the nasality scale. And Geddy's not half as monotonal.

Worse, this guy sounds like Technotronic...

OUCH. This hurts in so many ways.....Rush meets Depech Mode or something horrific like that....My Own Personal Hell

Could his signing BE more nasal?!
Serious, he sounds like my little brother tattling on me to our mom.

I like his voice, reminds me of rush... without the (even to a twelve year old mind) infuriatingly trite lyrics.
What?? Are you implying that a re-discovered guitar and rock-and-roll can't save the world?? Oh, no! And 2012 is so close. Placebo reminds me of Pavlov's Dog and David Surkamp.
Is this 1985 and I'm hearing another sucky Euro-crap band on 120 Minutes? These guys are horrid.
Thought this was Pet Shop boys......

I drove about 4 hours one way to see Placebo open for Stabbing Westward. Placebo was amazing. Stabbing Westward was so commercial, they actually looked like animatronics playing to a piped-in studio-recorded "concert."
Geez, Placebo opening for Stabbing Westward? This must've been before Sleeping for Ghosts? I saw them in 2003 in LA. They were really amazing. I'm still baffled as to how this song doesn't have a higher rating.
nice song. But unfortunately "pure morning",the best placebo song ever, can't be found in the library here at RP - if somebody can upload that song, please do so!

Okay, what is the 'real' deal here, Bill? This set had The Pretenders, Replacements, and Placebo -- so what the heck is Bloc Party doing in the middle of it? (I thought this sounded great when it started -- but then I realized it WASN'T a female vocalist. Then I didn't like it as much. I wonder what that says about me?)
But Placebo's vocalist is also male. Am I missing your point, Radiojunkie? :)

Get a grip old-tarts! This is god-like
Maybe if you're Hindu and can choose from 457 different gods --- that would give it the appropriate rating of 1/457th.
Sounds like a combo of Rush and Neil Finn???

if one guys listens to placebo, and another guy listens to zanax... and they both show the same side effects, what does that that tell us?
That zanax must kick some serious ass!

Has nothing to do with age, this is just passable at best.
Wow, this is one of the most unimaginative compositions. Pretty boring stuff.

Haven't heard this one in a long time. When it came out (in 1998, was it?) I listened to it over and over and over again. A great song. A great album. A must if you have heartache like I did. :)
Grateful. As in, of or pertaining to grating.

Yay - some older Placebo!! Thanks RP.
yes I agree..
I guess good music isn't for everyone.

Does anyone else think that maybe they are playing the vocal track at a faster speed than the other tracks. This guys sounds like one of the chipmunks. ALVIN!

i'm sure some folks like this stuff, but this guy's voice to me is like nails on a chalkboard, ack :headache.gif:
please, play more songs from this album.
Yay - some older Placebo!! Thanks RP.
