Yeah, I'm with you here. Joni takes some flack but she done good and Ella is always great, this one sounded a bit flat to me. Nice but not great...maybe a bit too fast for her voice, IDK, something. Good tune though...quite likable.

It is great to hear Toni Price here. We've enjoyed listening to her for years.

Another torchy kind of singer in our area is MaryAnn Price. I have no idea if they're related. MAP was one of Dan Hicks' original 'Lickettes'.

Both Sides Now.  Joni's version has a wonderful earthy feel to it.  I also like Ella's version better than this one.  It's leaving me a little cold.

This song is the reason why RP is so great. It is the reason why my speakers are cranked all day, every day. Except for when an annoying client walks in. (Damn them! :-) Toni Price is yet another great artist who's music I would NEVER otherwise get to hear and enjoy, were it not for this great station. Bill for President!

Anonymous posting often brings out the hateful side in people. Not me, I will anonymously state that Toni Price is among the best contemporary female vocalists living today. Her music is outstanding on recordings and even better live. I've seen her drunk, but guess what? I've seen Emmy Lou drunk too, and so was I on both occasions. That's what bars are for. I've also witnessed amazingly professional behavior from both of them. You have to take things in context. Put the petty jealousy aside and take my word for it, Toni is #1 in my book and I miss her. I hope she moves back home to Austin someday.

I'm not all that impressed with this version. It seems derivative of Billie Holiday's version which is, in and of itself, much better than this version. Toni's voice is very thin, brittle and a little painful to listen to. And Toni's performance doesn't hold a candle to Eva Cassidy who followed her in the mix. I don't know anything else that Toni has done, but I'm not a fan of this one.

Once again I am reminded how a song can transport one to their "Happy Place". Just got word of additional cutbacks here at work and was stewing in "What now?" paranoia. From the first notes, I was transported tp the motorcycle trip I was on passing thru Austin where I was turned on to Toni. It may not change the present condition, but good music can always soften the edges. Toni has the power and the staying power. Play on...
