The vinyl version is an audiophile classic.  Near reference-quality sound.  More importantly, the music is great.

I also tend to agree, and also think Miles was a god, but I did pick his trumpet up out of a work trance, so his style is unique (or patterned into my brain).

My thought exactly. I was listening to the end of it, and thinking "okay, it's got a John Lee beat, but the trumpet and jazzy sound? I must've missed Taj's input though. I wanna hear this again!

I seem to remember thinking the movie was okay, but this soundtrack is awesome. The combination of Hooker and Davis is killer...whether on upbeat grooves like this or more plaintive slow-burn soundscapes. find it, buy it...
