I'm so sorry. That responsibility really sucks but pets are so worth it. Particularly those ones that you form an extra-special bond with.

I had a somewhat similar experience. Very difficult still. Be well and hold on tight to all those kisses.

So sorry. The grief hits hard, indeed. In the last 12 months we put down 2 dogs & a horse. That's a bad year. You never forget but you move on. Peace.

Thank you, everyone!  My brother was in surgery for about 6 hours today.  The surgeon said it was "a challenging surgery," but that everything was accomplished.  The plan is to get him to wake up to make sure he's still "in there," and then to re-sedate him -until morning- so that he can rest.

Thanks, everyone.... he had a good day today, and his docs have approved him having McDonald's for dinner on the night before surgery....

It's countdown time... they will being prepping him for surgery almost exactly 12 hours from now.
