Played this a couple of evenings ago as the wife and I celebrated the first, really cold, miserable day of autumn.

The studio stuff is good, but the live cuts have way more energy.

What did you find? Youtube?

'Live at Montreaux 1980' is the CD I bought. I signed up for Amazon music and listened to the studio versions - better audio, but live just kicks it.

File under: Stories I'm sure I told before...

I saw Billy Bremner in a tiny pay-to-play club in Hollywood, back when his band was backing Rosie Flores. She wasn't touring, so the Billy Bremner Band was singing for their supper. Most of the people in the bar didn't know or care who was playing, beers were cheap and it was a cold rainy Tuesday night anyway, so the "crowd" was just neighborhood folx. But the drummer was from New Orleans, and it happened to be Mardi Gras. So the drummer was teaching all his favorite songs to Billy and the band and the bar and it might have been sloppy at first but the more we drank the better they got and... yeah.

Just listen to how Richard arranges those vocals, especially at the end. He was like Harrison being overshadowed by McCartney/Lennon. Great in his own way but he had that sister.

if you like Kate Bush you might want to listen to Kate Miller-Heidke. She is a classically trained opera singer who, along with her husband, Keir Nuttall, writes her own material. It’s not standard pop, often quite political such as her performance of Zero Gravity at Eurovision 2019 which was about her experience of  post-natal depression. Check it out. Also her TED performances of Humiliation; Sarah; You’ve underestimated me, dude; and the wonderful hilarious The Facebook Song.
