Also a gun is not a toy, and when I was young I had a LOT of supervision when I held a gun (because kids can be stupid with their mushy forming brains and all). This is the NRA national convention. These are all the supposedly 'responsible' gun owners.  They know (or should know) that they are under a spotlight. If they do this here, one must also wonder when they are alone 'what else they got wrong'.

See that yellow tag thru the trigger guard? Means the gun has been checked by the event inspectors and has no firing pin (or has otherwise been disabled), but yeah—I taught my kids better.

And you see the bottom photo, captioned as "Attendees try out laser sights at the Holosun booth"? Nothing but proper trigger discipline on view, even tho those rigs not only don't have firing pins, they don't even have barrels.

And those aren't laser sights. Wonder what else they got wrong...

I know from experience that outsiders sometimes wonder/question if America's unhealthy obsession with guns is somehow connected to more dubious (and bloody) foreign policy choices.

Lead picture is a child pointing a gun at the camera, finger on trigger.  This is the fing NRA convention!?!?! 
Treat every gun as if it is loaded. 
Don't point a gun at anything you don't intend to shoot.
Don't put your finger on the trigger until you are ready to shoot.

This is supposed to be mantra. These people are cosplaying. This is why there is a problem with shootings in this country. Most of the news stories on this are from foreign sources, they are all wondering WTF is wrong with us, Their concerns are legitimate.

I don't get it though. If you are so afraid of your environment that you think you need a gun with you when you go for a jog, you should find a different place to jog. Add to it that he filmed the encounter and it's another case of "I'm the main character" syndrome.   People... take a step back and look at what's up. This isn't the way it should be.

I guess a shoe qualified as a deadly weapon to this guy...
