Uh oh.. not meaning to say he's a beauty (but dumb blondy). He's certainly on the front edge of what consumer electronics may or will be in the future together with Apple, but I can't just grant my love to him, the way you said you could. (I've worked in SE myself, even if sporadically.)
That granted, many of Apple's so-called "major break-throughs" told (or made up) through his image, to me don't really sound half as revolutionary as they're made to be (or I simply lack in right understanding, which I seriously doubt).
You know how marketing to one of the world's "most uneducated populations" works, right?

Sorry pal, was just tryin' to be funny with you. As I'm not appearing to be one of those "anyones" you mention, the video you linked isn't raising one more eyebrow with me, still. Instead, my analysis stands: The guy just appears to be another Umrikan love-face stickum, ready to win all (Umrikan) hearts. Especially those of mother in laws (to be or not to be)... so please don't let me repeat my question... ;-)

What a strange comment. Anyway, as brain bleach, here's why anyone would love Craig.

1) Tim will never, ever be Steve. The closest we've got is Craig. (Did you see his portion of the show? When he told us that "now you can set multiple timers. Truly we live in an age of wonders." or when he played Black Sabbath on a three neck guitar? I love that guy.)

Tim reminds us of toilet paper in comparison to Steve, of course. I can see, why you "love" Craig, as he's the usual mother in law's sweetheart. - Are you a mother in law?
Further along, I think the greatest plus with the new Apple goggles is, you can still get hold of (and partake in) your real surroundings.

As it seems a sort of expensively marketed prototype, I think a consumer targeted lower-end device may be in the pipeline. Plus, due to this, any epilepsy-inducing "features" of this new device may be greatly reduced in comparison to "legacy" VR goggles. - Of course, this is just my just guessing.

As to why it may get adopted by a majority of consumers, I'm not so sure either, but I think the concept of merging VR with one's real life surroundings may be something that can save the VR moment to stay "on" for much longer than previously ever anticipated by many of us (i.e. excluding the Zuck; and to us RP listeners, maybe even a William?).

2) I remember that iPhone introduction like it was yesterday, goosebumps and all. The laugh I couldn't suppress. The feeling that it was all about to change. The goggles, they do nothing for me.

3) Like self-driving cars, they're neat. But I can barely justify wearing an Apple Watch. I can't bring myself to buy the giant headphones. And those goggles aren't even close to being on my wish list. They'll likely end up like the Apple Pro, a very very niche product that tech bros think they need. And that's all.

4) But, like how the space program got us Tang and Velcro, they might be a stepping stone to something more practical to the normal guy.

My question now, is Apple heading for a new iPhone-moment with this?

To me, it seems somewhat plausible or even likely.

I wonder, what other RP listeners might be thinking about this..?

To VR or not to VR - that is the question!

Some of us remain willfully ignorant of VR technology. Will the VR live concert tonight be, what we used to call, simulcast, on any other channel? (The audio portion. Of course)
