Thank you gtufano!!!! That worked out great and my iPhone 4 can still remain useful!! This Windows (old VMS and Unix) guy just learned something...obviously, lots more to learn. Cheers!!!

If you used to use the _ancient_ app, there is no way to recover it (it has been removed from the store years ago). The current iOS app still have the versions running on iOS8 available on the App Store. The trick to load it from the App Store is to do it from the device itself, being logged in to the store as an user that already bought the app: go to the "purchased" section (attention, this is critical, it can only be downloaded from the purchased section), search for the RP app, tap the download icon and answer "yes" to the question "so you want to install the latest version compatible with the device you're using?". This works almost always.

I'm trying to keep using an old iPhone 4 that is running ios 8.3 (I am unable to upgrade) and until quite recently (April 2020), I was able to use the old RP App. Unfortunately, the old App was unintentionally removed and I cannot find it to reinstall. Is there an archive of old versions of the RP App? If so, will it is still run / stream (I realize that I will not have all the options of the current app)? Thank you!

I've never bothered to look at that in Prefs.
I'd still like it to show the song when I hover over it in the dock...
As far as I know, this is not implemented. But you can alway click on the RP icon in the menu bar on the upper edge of your screen to show what's playing.
I guess I should have just asked where the documentation is hidden ;-)

Can you please put in a way for me to stop the notifications? I don't need that and if I do, I would rather just mouse over the app icon to see what's playing. If I start RP in a browser window and minimize it, it disappears in the dock but I can mouse over it and see...
V.2.1.7 on MacOS 10.15.4 quit about 2 days ago. The app comes up but when I hit the play button it just stares at me like I did something stupid. I miss listening through the app. Thanks - stay healthy all!

Running fine on Catalina at the moment
So it is not only on MacOS 10.13.
I was beginning to wonder, if the RP MacOS app is only being maintained for the newer OS's already. (Still not working here, neither.)
Meanwhile, I keep playing RP via Safari. Works well. The iOS app also keeps working, so far. But staying inside, I hardly use it these days.
Although I love the Giacomo Tufano apps and have been playing them for years on different OS's, maybe there are more important things to be taken care of right now for the RP team.

I just finished the port of the iOS app using Catalyst. It works (very well, from the audio/features point of view), but it requires Catalina and it's a bit off on the platform, really. On the plus side it got (for free) integrated output redirection to AirPlay speakers. We're trying to find a way to keep the old app still available, because Catalina-only is a bit too steep of a requirement. I hope in the next couple of weeks it should be out.

I'm curious â are there any plans to include the alternate mixes in the MacOS app? That's one of the reasons I find myself using the website more often than the app...I would love to know if this is being thought about!

There is no willingness in those, sorry... this is just the standard whatever widget macOS uses... anyway, you can paste by right-clicking and select "Paste" from the contextual menu... This is usually always working (and the workaround I use).

Just discovered RP has an app for MacOS!
Very nice so far but one minor suggestion/complaint: you can't paste into the username and password fields. As more of us are/should be using password managers with random passwords, that makes it a PITA to enter a long random password into the RP app.
