Hi.  Just checking in.  The past few months have really been a challenge for me.  It has been especially difficult to accomplish any projects such as my Love Bomb for Triskele.  But I did.  I pushed on and did get it finished in January.  You just cannot half ass vinyl.  It was finished and even burned, but I just could never do any art work or title and get it in the mail.  So after all of this time I decided to make it available for download and get it into your hands and for Triskele and the rest of you to enjoy.  It is 81 minutes and I did manage to force it onto a single disc.  I must warn you all and Triskele  that it was done as from one cancer survivor to another and may seem a strange mix, but it was taken from Triskele's favorites with a couple of additions that I thought would be appropriate.

The playlist ...

01 Nils Lofgren ~ Cry Tough
02 Jethro Tull ~ Nothing Is Easy
03 The Who ~ Baba O'Riley
04 Fleetwood Mac ~ The Green Manalishi
05 Donovan ~ Season Of The Witch
06 Pearl Jam ~ Black
07 Yes ~ Long Distance Runaround and The Fish
08 Led Zep ~ Over The Hills And Far Away
09 Robert Palmer ~ Sneakin' Sally Medley
10 Eric Clapton ~ The Core
11 TABB ~ Jessica
12 George Harrison ~ What Is Life
13 Steely Dan ~ Bohdisatva
14 Pearl Jam ~ Alive

Please click on each track so you avoid getting a zip file that may or may not be easy to open. A box will light up to the right of the title, click on it.  Rearrange the songs by number so that they play in order. There will also be some unnumbered tracks that were left on the cutting room floor that you all might also enjoy that were part of the process.  There are 25 tracks on two pages so don't miss any.

CLICKY       These are all brand new versions of these particular songs.

Triskele, I will get a hard copy in the mail to you on Monday.

Mini Miser Mix #1
As always I'm not sure if my track list is going to show up, sucks being non computer savvy

This was kind of a cleaning out the top file drawer of mix ideas for me. Some of the themes were ones that just didn't pan out overall, some just songs I jot down from time to time that go together well. I didn't have anything I was jazzed about putting together so I fell back on a Mini Mix. I kinda like the concept, hence Volume #1, so this may be my MO for a few till something pops in the old mind that deserves a whole disc (or 2). Hope you had a pleasurable listening experience.

When I looked at the artist lineup I wondered how Dylan made it into this cast of unknowns (to me anyway). Where do you find these guys? My take on the mix

Rachel Goodrich - sounded like the Ditty Bops to me, heard on RP from time to time
The Wiyos - Now that was one zippy tune
Sunshine - The only song on the mix I knew, and if I'm not mistaken you turned us on to this in another mix (Sun, Moon probably). Anyway, GREAT song!
Vespers - Banjos and Women, not your everyday mix. I'd love to see them live, bet they put on a stellar show
The Nude Party - A new political party maybe? LOL. Good philosophy in this song, kinda reminded me of Lou Reed
Allison and the Ancient Eyes - catchy little tune here
Billy Strings - Man this guy can pick those strings can't he?

Overall a good mix of new stuff. Hope the Bomb did it's job.

When I finished making dinner to the WTEL disc I put off listening to the love bomb for a couple of days, which was a pity—that disc has a lot going on that was new to me. In fact I was only familiar with the Dylan tune, but not the live version you included. That disc's going to get some more play! It even makes up for making me listen to Yoko Ono.

Even the first one wasn't without redeeming value. It reminded me of high school, when us music geeks would compete to introduce each other to the weirdest music. This disc would have won, hands down.

A couple I'll listen to again in particular:

10. Frank Sinatra..................................Miss Kittin

13. Chin Chin & Muck Muck..........................Devendra Banhart (this reminded me of Beck for some reason)

Wanted to like the Neutral Milk Hotel but...couldn't quite.

                Happy Happy Joy Joy

Loved the overall blend and vibe of this mix! A couple standouts:

11. Close My Eyes.........................................Vespers

Might question the appropriateness for the purpose, but a damned fine song. Also worth mentioning:

16. Snakeskin.............................................Deerhunter

20. Isis (Live)...........................................Bob Dylan

21. Turmoil and Tinfoil...................................Billy Strings
Bluesy bluegrass! Need to check out more of this.

Yea after listening to the lyrics of the Vespers track, I questioned whether to include it or not, but the music is so rockin and uplifting I decided to go ahead.  I hope she did not take it wrong, music is way more important than lyrics anyway.
Oh and as for Billy Strings, yes you do need to check out more of his  work.    He is the new generation's Sam Bush, Emmanuel whoever you think of as the great acoustic guitar virtuosos.  This guy is the real deal.

Might question the appropriateness for the purpose, but a damned fine song. Also worth mentioning:

16. Snakeskin.............................................Deerhunter

20. Isis (Live)...........................................Bob Dylan

21. Turmoil and Tinfoil...................................Billy Strings
Bluesy bluegrass! Need to check out more of this.
