For those that suffer from upper back and neck pain like I do, try deadlifts. I know it at first glance it seems like a strange exercise for those with a bad back and of course those with bad lower backs probably would not be able to do them, but if your lower back is healthy these things really hit the spot! Brings the pain right behind the shoulder blades, a different pain is the best alternative to no pain at all!
