I will take the occasional gaffe from Biden over the constant stream of idiotic stuff Trump says every single day. You can't really even call them gaffes because he believes the dumb-ass shit that comes out of his mouth and will double down on it when called out. November can't some soon enough.

Bingo.

I also find it curious that the Trump campaign is focusing on defining  Biden as out of it. If that were true, one would expect Trump to wipe the floor with Biden in their 3 debates (presuming they are held). I mean, how can one not do that against a debate opponent who one says is senile? But, on the other hand, sheer propaganda has worked for Trump from 2015 until the advent of the pandemic.

There is a flip side to this though.  If they were to debate more air time for Trump is not going to change anyone's opinion of him since he is and always has been well, Trump.  However the more air time Biden has only hurts him as people realize just how bumbling and scatterbrained he really is and that could change the minds of some less interested voters who are ambivalent about the whole thing or do not realize that they are Libertarian yet{#Wink}.   Strange as it is 2020 America does not really know Biden and I have a feeling the more words he says will only hurt him as his handlers tremble in fear every time a mic is held in front of him.   Love him, hate him or whatever, there is nothing new to be gleaned from Trump.  I know bolded sentence was meant to be snarky, but I actually think it is accurate and I could not think any less of either of these bozos.  Basically to nut shell it, if anyone can snatch defeat  out of the jaws of victory handed to him on a silver platter, I think it is Biden and the more chances you give him to do so increases the odds of him pulling it off.  His team would love it if there were no campaign, no debates and as little coverage of their guy as possible.  That would be my strategy.

yes, an awesome vid.

You remind me of a thought I had in the past couple of months as I go through my vinyl which is mostly from this time going forward.  While some of the music is sonically dated, the content, theme, lyrics, the thoughts that the music represents, could just as easily be written right now.  In other words, very little has changed over the past 50 years since.  The complaints, the injustices and inhumanities that inspired this music continues to this very moment.  Playing all of this music now has been a stark reminder of this sad reality.

Back then, we were trying to stop a war.  A real breathing war.  Now we are battling ideologies and there is no soundtrack like we had back then.  We have been divided by technology and just about conquered.  Dick Tracy's wrist radio has come of age and now we carry tiny little screens that are involved in almost every aspect of our lives, every waking moment.  We tell it what we crave and it gives it back to us in relentless wave after wave of "selected for you" bits and pieces of continuous affirmation of what we want to believe to be real.  We become so busy digesting what has been placed in front of us that there is no or little time to look further or elsewhere for alternative points of view.

And the other thing we battled back then, without calling it social justice, was the practice of separate but equal.  Or systemic racism.  We fought long and hard to put an end to separate but equal, going for a color blind society.  We almost got there, too.  Now the same people who gave us the sugar coated term for segregation, separate but equal, are once again trying to return us to this failed idea.  This time though, some different people are going to be more equal than others, meaning that they will be given more rights than others, based upon the premise of finally righting wrongs from so long ago that no one remembers the origins.  History is being rewritten in order to justify this new application of false equalness.

It was a late night ramble from last night ...

If I have to pick a side, and I suppose I do, then the Dems are less bad than the GOPs. But, honestly, the Dems are so unfocused and clunky and vision-less that it's really hard to get enthusiastic about them as leaders.

They're just better than the GOPs; that's an easy call.

Agreed.   As it stands, the biggest policy problems facing the USA will not be resolved by the Democrats.

It is time for the USA to ditch the current presidential system and adopt a British parliamentary system with proportional representation and multiple parties.

I tend to agree or something else other than what we have anyway.
