I like the music mix, and even more I like that I don't have to listen to boring/influencing commercials, and started to make small donations since this summer, as I started to listen more to RP, just made another donation to celebrate 2018 :)
I also like to listen to house/dance/trance and I am a regular listener of AH.fm (After Hours - Armin van Buren dutch DJ) & Fresh.fm (Dutch trance/house station broadcasting in the ether roughly in Amsterdam, Rotterdam & Utrecht)
I also make some amateur music my self :D ,some songs I made you can hear in this video about BSGO -> This is Battlestar Galactica Online

I'm from the Netherlands.

Keep up the good work :)

I wonder since how long does Radio Paradise exist.  It seem like ages.  I'm one of the early member, I think. More than 10 years now. I don't listen to it as much as before, but i always give my small donation once in a while.   320 AAC sound very good with Foobar or Musicbee . ( with wasapi or ASIO)

Our computer repair business had just moved to a new building in 2001 with internet at a "whopping" 10mpbs, so I could finally justify dedicating bandwidth to streaming internet radio. My first favorite was RADIO TINY PINEAPPLE - played everything from Yes to Duke Ellington to Oingo Boingo to Beethoven, always surprising - but they shut down in the first "purge" of non-royalty paying stations around 2003.

Found and switched to RADIO PARADISE soon after, and have been a loyal listener ever since, both at work and at home. I just LOVE the total diversity in the "medium energy" classic rock/world music/jazzy groove, with more progressive rock than anyone other than the dedicated prog rock stations, and NEVER HEARING AC/DC!!

Keep up the awesome work, and surprise me every day!

wow, memories.  I believe it was 2001 and I had started a job as a receptionist where I could have music playing.  I could also read books as they didn't have enough work to keep me fully occupied, but I was also not allowed to leave the desk for any reason unless someone covered for me.  Oh, and 5 hours mandatory overtime every week (8am to 6pm daily).  I have no idea what program I was searching through, I assume Winamp, but I had to find a station that played music I could stand, that was also appropriate for a public reception space at a corporate headquarters.  I went through a lot until I found this one.  Settled on it simply for the "no commercials" angle.  Been a devoted listener ever since.

As I finish this, Tubular Bells comes on.  Yep, right place for me!

I found this after RadioIO failed miserably in trying to monetize their music. Mystery paywalls, odd bitrates, fees for each genre of music, billing mixups....  I would have stuck with terrestrial, but FM suckes in Seattle, and our geography would only let me get Canadian stations. There is some odd rule in Canadian broadcasting that forces them to play a certain percentage of Canadian musicians, so you get a steady fill of Rush, Bachman Turner Overdrive, Chilliwack... Anne Murry.....Rush...

RP saved me from therapy, and I met (here and in meatspace) some interesting peeps.  I also got a rock.

Always searching for a better station than the local FM station (yes there was only one at the time here in the Coachella Valley).
I discovered there was radio on the internet way back when we had AOL.
The first one I could get was KOTR in Cambria, California... a great FM station.
I listened to their lousy bit rate broadcast for a short time until they had to bow out because of the commercial debacle that killed a lot of internet broadcast... and still affects them today.
KOTR was gone for me, and I was crying.
Someone on their forum page recommended Bill's thing going on.
I jumped on it ever since.
I wish I knew who that person was... I would like to give them a kiss.
Unfortunately KOTR was sold to the people who own KPIG.  So they now have the frequency there in San Luis Obispo... not bad... but not the same as it was.
And you have to pay to listen to them on the internet.

I was in SLO when the Otter went on the air. They really didn't have 2 nickels to rub together, but had something like a 50 watt transmitter, so they applied for a license. IIRC it took them several tries because the FCC really does want all the paperwork filled out with more than "Proposed Transmitter Site: We'll see."

When they finally got approved, most of Cambria could pick up the signal, but 95% of their broadcast territory was water... the competition in the area made sure they didn't get their antenna above the rocks where the signal could travel a long way. I could sometimes get a fuzzy signal in SLO but not very often.

They were really unlistenable in the early days, but still got a lot of fans. If you play enough Grateful Dead, you'll have fans.
