Nope, Scott, but thanks!

OK, I still can't make enough out to make an ID, but maybe someone else who knows it (and fer goodness' sakes, this I'm sure is a big pop song that everyone's heard) can ID it.

Here's the recording I made today, with terrible background noise, barely audible!

Oh, the "HEY" hint should have told me it's the "home" soundalike, Of Monsters and Men: Great video:

PS: I did listen to your clip, almost gave up but heard the song in the last few seconds.

PPS: I always sang "Lost Her in the Sun" as "Lobster in the Sun" and I'm sorry about that but what can you do?

I do really like this song; thanks, Ptooey.

I just bloody heard the song in question whilst at the sub shop! I took a little audio/video of it while there, thinking I would just pick up some of the lyrics, Google it, done.

Well, now I can't make out any of the lyrics; background noise was way too loud.

BUT I know a little more. It's a duet, really. Man and woman singing back and forth. Some horns come in "duh duh duh duh duh duh duh" then a "HEY".

Also, not really Celtic. Just maybe a slight flavor of it.

Going back to the video here to try and pick out the lyrics...

About a month or so ago I heard a song on RP at least a couple of times within a week. I *thought* at the time it was announced as the band "fun", but I went to try and find it, none of the songs I listened to by "fun" was it. Likewise, I'm not even seeing that band in the RP database.

I'd also heard this song in a sandwich shop, maybe more than once, so I presume it was some Top-40ish pop hit, as well (which matches "fun").

It smacked me as very Celtic/Irish.

It seemed very anthem-y. I recall it had bits of quiet, vocals only, building up into a more crescendo.

This is not a big deal, but now that I can't find what it is, it's driving me absolutely batty!

I realize this may be a ridiculous/impossible request, but if anyone has a clue what song/band I may be talking about, please speak up.

thanks!

Best reason to log in and rate songs... or comment on one: leaves a semi-useful trail of crumbs for moments like these.

not sure which song you are talking about but I know RP plays some Chieftans and also Flogging Molly tunes.  Perhaps you could research those on Youtube and find what you are referrring to? {#Music}
