The Man Who is Attempting to Repair GoDaddy's Sexist Reputation "My youngest sister was a psychologist and a researcher who specialized in eating disorders … one of her thesis was the effect of the media on women’s bodies and self-esteem … my sister ended up passing away tragically about 12 years ago and my promise to her was that I would pursue as much as I could in my own field to level the playing field for women so that they’re not at a disadvantage and actually have every benefit that men have because she was such a strong advocate," he says. "When I came to GoDaddy, it was hard to imagine a better place to come to shift the way women are perceived in the media." "We’ve changed . I’ll be adamant on that. That’s not something we’re trying to change. It’s changed. A lot. I think the numbers are speaking for themselves and the folks that are here will tell you, there’s been a massive shift."

I agree, SPAN is a better element to use with the BOLD property included.

I cannot perform a search for the Web Design thread this morning, so I'll (cross-)post this here in the hope that I'll get a good answer.
Please consider www.eigen.com. See the bold blue text (e.g., "Experience Artemis in action!") in the middle column (Eigen Updates)? I need it to have the same teal color (#007F9E) as the adjacent hyperlinks. Right now the text is in a conventional text block and uses as the style.
I've been wrestling with this for an hour and a half this morning, have looked at several W3C pages and still can't get a handle on it. Are any of you CSS code jockeys?
I'm using an external CSS page; here is a snippet that controls stuff in this column:
#updates { display: block; background-color: #FFFFFF; padding: 10px; width: 300px; float: left; height: 520px; color: #000000; } #updates h6 { font-size: 12px; font-weight: bold; }
Glad to see you fixed it. I had looked over your code and CSS page and came up with this. I was going to suggest: <span class="tealStyle">Experience Artemis in action!</span> and <span class="tealStyle">Scan • Plan • Biopsy • Report</span>And place in your CSS: .tealStyle { color:#007f9e; font-weight: bold; }
It gave me something to keep my mind occupied.

Yes. I went back to look at the HTML and CSS pages because it occurred to me (during lunch) that there had to be something making the "strong" elements that blue color, when they should be the same color as all the other text. It looks as if you have since fixed it.

But maybe something like this: with this in style sheet: strong (or whatever element).teal { color:#007f9e; } You shouldn't have to add "font-weight:bold;", but if the style command doesn't work within the "strong" tag, you can create a new class or ID which has the "Bold" and color commands in it. It may also be better to use "ID" instead of "Class" Thanks for the attempt. It did not work, however.

okay, cool. The mixtape image was on the old server so now that it's on the new, the path is still the same. Had me worried. The telescope is something that I just uploaded to the new server via their web control panel thing... I can't get Fetch or Cyberduck to log in for some reason. But I'm almost done with this chore. Thanks Dave, too...

ScottFromWyoming wrote: Nice, and I'm sure they're a great company. Unfortunately I'm also a cheap bastard or I wouldn't be with GoDaddy in the first place. Venovix looks about 2.5x more expensive than HostGator. Well this better be worth it. What a titanic ass-pain this is. They all say "free transfer!" of all your stuff from one host to the new but it's going to suck up days and days and take a long time to get everything right. If I actually had a website that got hits I would never consider making this change. I'll most likely be down for days or weeks and all the crap pictures I post here will probably all get 404'd and never work right again. Jesus. Edit: everything worked even though confidence was low. No broken links, and I was down for a total of never. The HostGator control panel is much more streamlined than GoDaddy... everything's easy to find. Support is good, too, tho I haven't phoned them (I prefer live chat). It's really nice. $4 a month.
