One of my favorite movies of all time. Costner is, seriously, good in this. Kevin Smith does a brilliant job of directing, like in this scene.

Wow, I've read the whole post (don't bother with a blue ribbon
), thank you all for some very cool sounding ideas!!
One movie which always makes me feel good is
Raising Arizona . The ending is really neat, as the opening sequence/ prologue. "When there was no crawdad to be found, we ate sand", and "you missed a spot".
The Fifty First Dates isn't too bad either.
This one must be so obvious that it's not on the list (I'm still new to reading
), "
It's a Wonderful Life ". I cried again last time I watched it with my kids.

Not a great movie, but I am a sucker for those kind. I teared up at the end. Edit: Oops. The movie is Aloha.

second one is just as good! Like father, like son !
Step Into Liquid is great also. Not quite the travelogues of the other two, but its one of the greats as well.
Robert August of the first movie is alive and well and finishing out his years on the west coast of Costa Rica.

That's a classic for sure. Maureen O'Hara and Walter Pidgeon.

Wow - I started this thread when I was a newbie poster - and getting over a breakup!
I love Smoke Signals too. I've seen the "Fastest Indian" - and I think O. S. too.

I'd prefer they not be mainstream (i.e Norah Ephron), since I've probably already seen them...but more along the sort of deep, spiritual lines of "Uncorked," or something that helps me get in touch with hope again.
