Maybe not surprising:
When I was designing the t-shirt for the "
Seahorse Magic Sauce ", I wanted to use the proper Latin name as the name of the food company - it is "hippocampus" (from Greek). I had to dig into it more and found out that the part of the human brain was named for its resemblance to a sea horse.

duffel bag vs. duffle bag I learned the "duffel" spelling as well, though I do see the "le" spelling pretty often. I didn't know it was named for a place; I assumed it was someone's last name, like "leotard", or maybe just a French term for "satchel" or something.
