I think its cool as I restore old analog recording equipment and sometimes use it for live recordings.

I was just pointing out that Albini's never not been analog. So a new studio with that as their marketing pitch isn't doing anything special, I don't think.

Mine was pretty solid. I had been drooling over them in the store and was astonished when I spotted one in a used audio place I frequented. I had it before I had a car, so it must have been 1984/5. Dave - what year did those come out?

Now I think I'm mis-remembering, because I can't find a Pioneer that turns the tape over like that. I had a few, but 2 pioneers in a row. The one I thought flipped the tape malfunctioned and was generally disappointing so I took it back after only a few weeks, and made them credit me to the newer generation, which I had for a few years but also sucked.

This is the second one, can't really remember the previous one but it was big and ugly.

The AKAI GXC-65D from 1976 was the first one to flip the cassette. I bought one new.
