I would like to offer some paraphrases:

The Earth is happy:  Chinese manufacturing has lowered the cost of solar panels to the point that in many locations, they are now a cost effective provider of energy.

The Earth is happy:  COVID-19 forced everybody to stay at home and self-isolate.  Pollution crashed like the 1929 stock market.  

The Earth is happy:   President Trump likes 'cheap energy' but not too cheap given his efforts to get OPEC+ to cut oil production.   OK, not much here to rejoice but it could be worse!!!    

Frankly, don't worry.  When young Donald could have learned all about demand and supply schedule elasticities at Wharton, he was presumably focused on more important feline subjects.  As such President Trump — affectionately nicknamed by his admirers as Don Quixote of DC — knows things about commodity markets that escape the rest of us.

Earth Day was originally supposed to be on April 20th, but the originators forgot about it until a couple days later.

we need a lot more energy

if only we had a form of energy (something dense, something green)

we could raise the living standards for billions

which stabilizes population and appears to make them less violent

Happy Earth Day....I'm going to stay in and watch it rain, and be thankful (central OK is in its third or fourth year of exceptional drought).  Can't really do anything more to mark the occasion this year.
