Thanks, library workers. If it wasn't for a library worker I wouldn't have been able to file for SS benefits. They do good work. And, by the way, it often coincides with National Equal Pay day. so # cheers and a raise for library staff. Especially the volunteers.

I'm glad this is getting attention and hope that the response continues to improve. But mostly I'm glad there are good people around.
I say that in a lot of ways Australia is 15 years behind the US. We are getting hit pretty hard with meth, now. Yeah, I'm worried about the future, especially for the rural areas.

In libraries in Derplahoma, one finds The Bible in the 500 section and Darwin's Evolution of Species in the 700 section. How come?
500 in DDS is categorized as Science, however more specifically, 501 is Philosophy and Theory. I wouldn't object to bible-type stuff under Philosophy, but DDS has already addressed this and The Bible has its own subcategory (220) under Religion. However, 700 (or any subsection thereunder) for Darwin is flat wrong - Genetics and Evolution has its own subcategory (576).
So, in answer to your question: apparently cataloging librarians in some libraries in Derplahoma (I'm trying to be generous and not presume that they're all idiots) are completely unqualified to do their jobs correctly.
The New York Public Library is the proud home of the REAL Winnie-the-Pooh, the actual toy teddy bear that once belonged to Christopher Robin Milne, son of A. A. Milne, and the basis for the character Christopher Robin in the beloved Winnie-the-Pooh stories.....
