The Album is called Cover Girl, I would deduce that like many other artists who produce an album of covers, it is simply contractual obligation, ie their record contract demands an album every so often and this is the result.

Annie Lennox did the same not that long ago and the result was much worse than this.    George Michaels "Songs from the last Century" was an undisputed hit.

I dont dislike this version.  7

While I have never been a Dylan fan, I've always liked this one.  One cannot help but admire a song that rhymes "Honolulu" with "Ashtabula."
Is there anything worse than twee country music? No, no there isn't.
Have had a deep fondness for Colvin as an artist for quite a while - this is an enjoyable and quite serviceable rendition of the Dylan classic!

Sorry, I was thinking cheese puffs. ;-)

How 'bout: non-Dylan tunes with pseudo-Dylan singing:

"Dylan" sings Dr. Seuss:

John Lennon parodies Bob while reading the news:

Tough to hear what Colvin, who is a fine talent, adds to this song. IOW, a needless and unattractive cover.
I think this is pretty good, but it really rubs me the wrong way when she says "Yer gonna have to leave me, I know". The "I know" is just too cutesy. Makes me cringe.

Yuck...  she should have stuck with "Bunny Came Home" and stayed away from Blood on the Tracks...
I prefer the Madeleine Peyroux version best of all...  But this is true to Dylan's folksy style...

Agreed. Colvin's version seems to drift along in a dream-like state. Dylan's version rushes ahead with urgency, as if there's something he needs to get off his chest.

Please play this tune after playing the original sometime, Bill.  I love covers of Dylan's work...and this one is outstanding.  The energy in Shawn's delivery is palpable.  She is one of my all-time favorite artists...{#Heartkiss}
This is one of her best covers...I love Dylan, but she does this song so well...play it, Bill! I think everyone will like is ;)
